New satellite campus would first offer executive-type management programs

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) has announced plans to open a new, satellite campus near Hyderabad, reports the Business Standard newspaper. The establishment of the new campus will be supported by the Andra Pradesh state government, which wants to promote management education in the region.

School officials suggested the first offering at the new campus could be a one-year management program for executives. IIM Ahmedabad currently offers a "One-Year Post Graduate Program in Management for Executives (PGPX) program.

Hyderabad is located about 750 miles (1,200 kilometers) southeast of Ahmedabad.

IIMA is EQUIS-accredited, along with the IIM Bangalore, which was awarded an EQUIS accreditation earlier this month.
