Msc in Consulting

Hi everyone,

I want to ask your opinion about the best school for consulting. My background is in communication studies (advertising), and I have 2 years of experience as a graphic designer and 3 months as a business consultant for small and medium enterprises (career shift)

I want to become a consultant at Mckinsey/Bain as a strategy consultant in my country (Indonesia). However, to pursue MBA/Msc management, I have to take the GMAT test (I haven't learned about GMAT yet).

Therefore, if I want to take experience consulting as soon as possible, which campus do I have to target?

1) Msc management consultancy UCD Smurfit

2) Msc management consulting Leeds University

3) Msc business analysis & strategic management the university of manchester

Thank you

Moving from a graphic designer to  strategy consultant at a top consulting firm seems a bit of a stretch. As a general rule, the Big 3 strategy consulting firms (McKinsey, Bain and BCG) recruit MBAs from the very best business schools. Try a search on Linkedin to find out where their Indonesian consultants did their masters. It probably wasn't at the likes of Leeds.

In my opinion, they do not look for people having a degree with a focus of management consultancy, but graduates of MBA or MIM from the top schools.

I would suggest you to go with #3 - University of Manchester. It will provide you much broader aspects and will improve the chance of being accepted as a consultant at Mckinsey/Bain.

This is not good advice. Bain and McKinsey are not hiring notably from that MBA.
