Dear All,
I am Architect based out of India, and have an experience of over 10 years in the Industry. Since the last 6 years, I have lead the Design Teams of 2-3 different Delhi based firms which have a solid presence in the industry and are multiple award winning Architectural Firms. I have also been responsible for Marketing & Business development works for these Architectural Studios.
Now, at this stage I have realized my core strengths as Marketing & Design (in that order). I thought to apply to a couple of firms to join in their marketing team, but since industry standards are such that they wouldn't take interest in my profile if I don't have an MBA. I tried giving GMAT after a two month preparation, and sadly, barely scored a respectable score and fell at 480. Thus, I need some guidance, whether should i still try and prepare much harder for GMAT, score higher, and apply to MBA Programs, or is there a way I can bypass the GMAT thing?

I assume you are looking at schools in India only. Wny not take a degree in marketing? https://www.best-masters.com/ranking-master-in-india/master-marketing.html

It really depends. Are you looking to study internationally and then return to India afterwards? If that's the case, you might want to do some research on the international schools with the best network in the firms that you are looking at.
Also, look closely at people working in those firms and see what kinds of degrees they have: a specialized degree in marketing, as Duncan notes, might be an option.
But if you are seriously considering an MBA abroad, you'll want to do a strong, accredited one, and in this case there is not really any way around doing the GMAT. Solid prep, targeting your weak points can go a long way.
