I am an Indian with a background in the IT Industry for over 5 years now. I have worked with Infosys since July 2008 till present in SAP (business integration).

I have one year of International experience for a client (through Infosys) in France as a team lead.

My GMAT score is 660 (Q48 V33 AWA 5.5) and I have decent extra-curricular activities.

I am looking to apply in Round 3 (deadline Oct 15, 2013) for SMU (Singapore) Full time MBA starting in Jan 2014.

My first question is: Is the Full time MBA achievable for my profile?
Second: Do you think I will be losing an edge as I am applying in Round 3? Is it still safe for me to apply?

You are under the average at SMU for GMAT and work experience, and your nationality and IT background are not in short supply. You would not be a competitive candidate in round one. If you get an interview in round three, the rest of your application must be amazing.

It says that the mean gmat is only 640 for SMU. And the average work experience is 5.2 years which is exactly where I stand now. Please kindly advice.

The SMU average was 660 in 2011 so I expect it will be higher next year - 680 might be the median score.

AS a Chinese candidate, I'm a little concerned about the placement there since SMU is still not widely recognized by China's recruiters.

So you'll be looking for post-MBA jobs on the mainland? I'd think that an SMU MBA would have much more leverage in Singapore.

They're all in a similar ballpark - in all of the cases, I believe that average salaries for those who work in Singapore's financial sector tend to be higher.

As far as I know, SMU doesn't release any alumni salary data for their MBA program. However, I have read that grads of another of their masters-level business programs report 85k SGD salaries, on average. Take from that what you will - but I'd imagine that MBA grads would take in a bit more.

Similarly, NUS MBA grads report 88k SGD salaries (that's self-reported by the school), and Businessweek data suggests that the NTU salaries are at about $91k SGD.

Insead salaries are much higher: look at its placement report.

Duncan and donho are right - the FT Global ranking pegs average salaries for Insead grads at over $140,000 - although this includes data from their Fontainbleu graduates as well, which skews it a bit...
