Hello Gino, talking about good programs, as far as I know ESCP-EAP in Turin is the only one represented in the rankings. Not a big choice. You should consider applying to MBAs in other countries at the same time, just in case.

The only Top Ranked MBA in Italy is Bocconi one in Milan.

Hi Gino,

the fact is that Bocconi is the only school with more than 4 years in the international MBA.
As far as I know, the second best BS in italy is MIP, always in Milan.

Hello Massimo.
For me what most counts is the reputation the program has in Italy.
Anyhow, if an Italian MBA is not renowned in Italy itself, it must be completely ignored internationally.

Since you work in investment banking, and you have more insights in the sector, can you tell me a bit more on employers aprehension of the Bocconi MBA?

If your funds are limited to the extent that there is only one school in Italy that you can afford, it might be the wrong moment to do an MBA. Don't forget the living costs you will have to add to the tuition.

Be aware, it is a very bad idea to chose an MBA only because it is cheap, the cheap programs are often not serious, not accredited, and not known at all to international employers. You risk to waste time and money! there has been a lot of discussion about this in the board.

Besides, an MBA is quite challenging, your English needs to be on a high level to do the programme with success, so why not wait a bit more time to improve your language skills and try to gather more funds. You don't need to hurry, an MBA can be done at different stages in your career.

Italy is not really an MBA country. As far as I know SDA Bocconi is the only that can claim to have an international reputation. ESCP-EAP is internationally ranked, but in my opinion the reason for that is their marketing budget and not their academic excellence.

wow that's a hard accusation - on what basis are you saying that? do you have personal experiences or any other info's - please share!

i do agree with a_mukerjee comment about the importance of doing a MBA in a good serious school - otherwise it will be a complete wast of time and money.

When you look at the FT EMBA ranking, ESCP-EAP performs very poor in terms of research quality. In other areas which can be influenced by the schools and/or their alumni (I don't want to say faked...) the ESCP-EAP is the number one in the world. Besides, I know some people who have made their experiences with ESCP-EAP and most of them were not that happy.

are you sure you are not taking drawing a general conclusion based on one detail?
first of all, i don't see how a school can stay so highly ranked for years by FT if it's all based upon faked data!(you are not suggesting that all the alumni that took part in the ranking surveys gave fake Nr, just in order to "keep face"??).
and if you start giving one detail more weight then others, it puts the whole ranking system of financial times in question!
