Hello to all,

I am considering doing an MBA in Germany; I have been applying to several schools and admitted to some already. I took some time reviewing the posts here. Now I have admission from:

1. HS Pforzheim
2. HS Esslingen

I am totally aware that Pforzheim has AACSB Accreditation, while Esslingen is only accredited by the local FIBAA, but what else? Is the accreditation everything I should consider?

Please any advice or info about these two schools which can help me make my decision?

In case of staying in Germany afterwards, which one has a better placement?

In addition to the experts here, I would be so interested in hearing form current students or prospective students who are considering one of these two options.

Pforzheim is regularly and consistently ranked in the top handful of Fachhochschulen for business (http://www.fb01.h-brs.de/Ranking.html). It has an excellent intensive German programme in the MBA, and I would choose it for that alone.

They are amongst the strongest MBAs in FHs, and they will have similar placement. They are either side of Stuttgart, so they are both in an area that's doing pretty well economically.

Thanks again. I'd totally agree with you, the German program offered by Pforzheim sounds quite promising. On the other hand, Esslingen is requiring knowledge of basic German to admission and an advanced level before the third semester. I think both HSs are promoting German heavily so grads can find a job in the German market after graduation. Also, form reading posts over here, I can tell that these two options could be the strongest among MBAs offered by HSs.

Esslingen has strong ties with big German player in the field of industry, I don't know about Pforzheim. Some friends are advising me to stick to Esslingen for that reason, especially that I come from an engineering background.

Still, I haven't made the final decision. I guess I'll see what other members here can share in this regard.

I'm wondering if any one here applied or is applying to Esslingen or Pforzheim this year?

Interesting: Esslingen requires 200 hours of German. That's very good. But there's no German language teaching in the programme while Pforzheim brings you to the Zertifikat für den Beruf. The Pforzheim programme is also more extensive.

If guess if you are in auto engineering now and want to stay there, Esslingen is a good choice. Most people will be better off with Pforzheim.

Actually, I'm not working in the automotive industry at present. I agree that Esslingen will add to engineers targeting jobs within the industry in general and in the automotive industry in specific, while Pforzheim could open more doors without such a limitation. In fact, this is what Esslingen is saying about the program, that it is designed for engineers with management ambitions!

I am a mechanical Engineer and I want to do Industrial management or industrial engineering. I have applied to Esslingen University MBA program. I saw the accreditation of this course. it is being accredited by both FIBAA and ASIIN. i do not know much about ASIIN but most of the universities master courses are accredited by ASIIN. Could you tell me,ASIIN accreditation reputed to international level as like AACSB ... or still it is like FIBAA accreditation.

Just take a look in Google. I've never heard of ASIIN and neither has anyone else here, I guess. FIBAA is not a demanding accreditation like AACSB: a small minority of schools have AASCB, while almost every German programme has FIBAA. FIBAA is not well known or trusted outside Germany.

HS Vs. TU in Mechanical Enginering
I want to get master degree from Germany. I will apply München, Bochum and Stutgard which have English master ğn mechanical Engineering. However I want to apply HS Esslighen 2 mechanical engineering master program. At this point I have some concern about TU vs HS. After HS will I have some program in indusrty because of HS ? I don t want to ger PHD I want to get master deegree to have good job in Germany in big company easily. What doy recommend to me ?

Generally a university will be better. Try the CHE website's ranking.. How good is your German?

CHE said HS Esslingen is good. HS Esslingen is offer English Master Program.
I have just started to learn german and I expect my german is A2 at next september.Then I will continue to study german in there
