Hi there,

Well, it's not a well known school in London. It issues degrees of the Open University, which is a solid university. They are looking for an IELTS score of 6.5, which is think is a good sign.

Have you considered going to one of the British universities? I think people don't really respect schools that don't have their own rights to award degrees.

Well the thing is this is the only univ/college that offers the "luxury brand management "course in the whole of UK :( so am pretty much left with no choice. I know there are many other schools in Europe that offer a course in luxury but cost wise etc this works out better. Also i have family in London. Also , as far as luxury goes London is one of the top places to work in...

There are a handful of masters programmes in luxury anywhere in Europe. They are all very small. Only the programme at EM Lyon is really from a top-class business school. So, this says to me that such a degree is not the only or best best route into luxury, otherwise there would be more programmes. In particular, it says to me that there a not a lot of businesses looking to hire pre-experience graduates as luxury brand managers. Instead, you need to look at what those people did before they got that role.

I just searched LinkedIn to find luxury people in the UK. These are the schools where the most people studied:
London College of Fashion (261)
University of the Arts London (194)
University of Westminster (174)
University of Leeds (149)
Kingston University (142)
London Metropolitan University (138)
Oxford Brookes University (130)
The University of Manchester (130)
University College London, U. of London (121)
University of Oxford (121)
University of Bristol (111)

These are the industries they are working in:
Marketing and Advertising (1387)
Hospitality (915)
Luxury Goods & Jewelry (897)
Retail (841)
Leisure, Travel & Tourism (816)
Design (795)
Apparel & Fashion (716)
Public Relations and Communications (584)
Construction (397)
Real Estate (368)

You might be better off picking one of those industries and finding a masters at one of those universities that gives you an entry-level role.

PS. Looking at the roles of people in LinkedIn, this might alsoo give some ideas:
Entrepreneur (1862)
Sales (1725)
Creative (1472)
Marketing (1102)
Administrative (720)
Consultant (719)
Business development (655)
Engineering (450)
Human resources (444)

There are masters degrees on all those topics: maybe do one of those and then look for electives, projects and an internship in luxury.
