The Business School

A unique learning environment and underlying philosophy separate Boston University School of Management from other business schools. The School is passionate about educating leaders who focus on creating value for the world. We seek students who want their lives' work to be meaningful, and we're dedicated to making their education as relevant as possible. Best of all, the School of Management provides a multitude of pathways to a degree.

The Program

School of Management's atrium

Our master's programs allow you to tailor your studies to your specific career aspirations. The School of Management has a distinctly personalized approach that offers students more paths to a degree than almost any other school. In addition to outstanding options for full-time and part-time MBA study, students can benefit from the wealth of resources at BU by pursuing one of the available dual degree programs.

Beginning in fall 2013, the Two-Year MBA experience will include a more concentrated core curriculum so that students can begin to explore their specialties earlier in the program. Students will build comprehensive knowledge of management disciplines that prepares them to engage the forces transforming the global economy. And they'll acquire the global and ethical frameworks they'll need in a world facing massive economic, commercial, and social challenges. If students choose the Two-Year MS-MBA Program (MBA and MS in Information Systems) or a specialty in Public & Nonprofit Management or Health Sector Management, they'll be able to further personalize their courses of study to match their goals.

By choosing the One-Year International MBA (IMBA), students can earn their MBAs in 12 months and immerse themselves in a multicultural experience in China with classmates from around the world. IMBA students start with summer coursework in Shanghai and Beijing before arriving in Boston for the start of the fall semester.

The Professional Evening MBA (PEMBA) at BU is the part-time route to accelerating students' full-time career advancement and making their personal plans a reality. PEMBA students build the same foundation in the traditional management disciplines as, and take electives with, full-time students, but complete their MBAs on their own terms and around their own commitments.

Other options for graduate study include the MS in Investment Management and MS in Mathematical Science programs, both designed to help students gain the industry-specific training and knowledge they need to achieve their goals for the future.
