The University

Peking University (PKU) was founded in 1898 with traditional values of patriotism, progress, democracy, and science, together with an educational style combining diligence, exactitude, truthfulness, and innovation. The Business School

Beijing International MBA (BiMBA) at Peking University - was founded in 1998 as the first joint international MBA program in Beijing approved by the Chinese government. It is a joint educational venture, between Peking University (Beijing, China) and its global partners, operated by the National School of Development (NSD) at Peking University. On the background of China's reforms and modernization practices, BiMBA is operating in the excellent academic atmosphere and a long line of research traditions at PKU. It is committed to active participation in high level dialogues with local and global leaders, discussing China's present reforms and future development as well as the reconstruction of a global new order. Its goal is to cultivate corporate leaders who are familiar with China's market environment as well as international business practices and are thus empowered with a global vision and a local mindset.

MBA, EMBA, Master of Science in Global Finance

BiMBA offers full-time MBA, part-time MBA and Executive MBA degree programs, executive development programs (EDP), and tailor-made training programs on finance and public administration for enterprises and institutions of various industries

MBA
Initiated in 1998, BiMBA?s MBA program is taught in English. Since its establishment, BiMBA has enjoyed NO.1 rankings several times as China's Most Valued Business School by Fortune and Forbes. All the MBA courses make a successful combination of Western and Chinese teaching styles, ensuring students attain a global mindset with adaptability to the local environment. Courses are taught both by BiMBA faculty and professors from Vlerick and other leading business schools around the world. Upon graduation, program participants will receive an MBA degree from the Vlerick Business School in Belgium, which is one of the most renowned business schools in Europe and the best in Belgium and was ranked 10th worldwide in 2009 in a survey by The Economist of full-time MBA program. In the 2011 global MBA ranking by the Financial Times, Vlerick MBA was ranked 3rd best worldwide in the value for money ranl. Vlerick's MBA degree has not only received official ratification from the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, it is also the only one in China holding all three major international business school accreditations - AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

Executive MBA
The EMBA program, initiated in 2000, is tailored for executives who are at key transitional points in their careers. Backed by an excellent faculty team of the National School of Development at Peking University (NSD), the program sets its mission as enabling participants to "stand higher to see better the future direction of China's economy among complexities of the business environment". After completing the courses, students will receive an EMBA degree granted by Peking University.

Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF)
BiMBA offers master courses in finance to alumni who have successfully completed the MBA degree and current students having completed all the pre-requisites of the MSGF program. It allows students to transfer up to 12 credits from the MBA towards the Fordham MSGF degree. The four courses that are transferred are Business Statistics, Corporate Finance, Managerial Economics and Global Leadership/Managing Organizational Behavior taught by Prof. John Yang. Six additional courses are required to obtain the Fordham MSGF degree. Of those six courses, 3 will be delivered in Beijing at BiMBA and 3 will be taught in New York at Fordham University.

The Faculty

BiMBA is one of the business schools in China that enjoy the most internationalized faculty. It draws together a group of word-class scholars and experts, from both China and overseas, renowned for their achievements in business-related fields, teaching practice, academic research, policy analysis and management consulting.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition:
Full-time MBA
Tuition of 2012 full-time program is RMB235, 000 (USD 37,300), including fees of textbooks and handouts. BiMBA allows full-time students to pay the total tuition in 3 installments within 1.5 years. The Tuition of 2013 is TBA.

Part-time MBA
Tuition of 2012 Part-time program is RMB265,000 (USD 42,100), including fees of textbooks and handouts. BiMBA allows part-time students to pay the total tuition in 4 installments within 2 years. The Tuition of 2013 is TBA.

Master of Science in Global Finance(MSGF)
Tuition for 2013 MSGF program is USD13,500, not including textbook costs, travel and living expenses.

Financial Aid

1) 2013 Full-Time MBA Scholarships

BiMBA will offer scholarships to nearly 30% of the 2013 full-time MBA students. The scholarships range from RMB 30,000 to RMB 105,000.

*Elite Student Scholarship (ESS)
Eligible applicants should be overall highly evaluated and have GMAT score above 700. The scholarship will be awarded to two applicants, each receiving RMB 85,000 to RMB 105,000.

*Rising Star Scholarship (RSS)
Rising Star Scholarship is open to applicants who have great potential in their career development. Applicants are expected to have three to five years of work experience with a GMAT score of over 650. The scholarship is set for four students, RMB 65,000 each.

*Financial Industry Scholarship (FIS)
FIS is offered to applicants with at least three years of experience in finance, accounting or audit work. Applicants? GMAT score should be above 600. The scholarship will go to two winners, each receiving RMB 45,000 to RMB 65,000.

*Diversity Contribution Scholarship (DCS)
DCS aims for the diversity of BiMBA student group. Female applicants, international applicants, applicants with startup experience, overseas work experience or special talent are all welcome to apply for this scholarship. GMAT is not required. Six applicants will be awarded based on a comprehensive assessment. The scholarships amount is RMB 30,000 each.

Note:
BiMBA may set up special scholarship for full-time MBA applicants who have educational background of the ?Economics Double Major? provided by the China Center for Economic Research (CCER) at National School of Development at Peking University. Details will be provided by separate notice.

2) 2013 Part-Time MBA Scholarships

The 2013 Part-Time MBA Scholarships consist of Diversity Contribution Scholarship and National Leader Scholarship. The scholarships range from RMB 30,000 to RMB 65,000.

*Diversity Contribution Scholarship (DCS)
DCS aims for the diversity of BiMBA student group. Female applicants, international applicants, applicants with startup experience, overseas work experience or special talent are all welcome to apply for this scholarship. GMAT is not required. Five applicants will be awarded based on a comprehensive assessment. The scholarship amount is RMB 30,000 each.

*National Leader Scholarship (NLS)
National Leader Scholarship is given to applicants from state-owned enterprises, government sectors and public institutions. GMAT is not required. Two applicants will be awarded based on a comprehensive assessment. The scholarship amount is from RMB 45,000 to RMB 85,000 each.

3) MSGF Program Scholarship by NASDAQ OMX
BiMBA graduates who enroll the Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF) program can apply for a scholarship supported by NASDAQ OMX ranging from USD 1000 to half of the tuition. Scholarships will be granted mainly based on two criteria: merit (both academic and professional), and time of application.

Location

Langrun Garden in Peking University, in the Haidian District of Beijing, is located to the north of Minghe Garden and Jingchun Garden, and to the south of Wanquan River. Formerly known as Chunhe Garden, the Garden was owned by Prince Yonglin in the Reign of Jiaqing Emperor in Qing Dynasty. In the period of Emperor Xianfeng, the Garden was conferred to Prince Yixin and was renamed as Langrun Garden. According to History of Peking University by Mr. Hou Renzhi, Langrun Garden was returned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1898 - the 24th year of Emperor Guangxu's Reign - after Prince Yixin died.

Accommodation

Housing
A 2-bedroom apartment may cost you US$600-730 per month. All BiMBA students live off campus and most share rooms, taking into consideration the lower cost, better housing conditions and easier access to community facilities, such as bars, book stores, restaurants, shopping malls and places of interests. Besides, most think it is exciting to experience life in Beijing as local people do.
BiMBA staff will help students get information on housing. However, students themselves need to look at possible places of residence and sign contracts with real estate agents.
Peking University is located in the Haidian District near the North West 4th Ring Road. It can easily be reached by subway line 4 (the blue line) at Beidadongmen Station or line 13 (the yellow line) at Wudaokou Station. Therefore, it is good to find an apartment near the subway line.

Eating
The students can eat on campus using their food card; the cost of three meals a day is about US$ 3.5-4. There are many choices of food in Beijing, both Eastern and Western. Eating in restaurants may cost US$7.5-10 per person ? or more!

Student Life

BiMBA students have opportunities to participate in various activities, such as the lectures and forums, team building, networking parties, culture tours in China, students clubs, New Year Party, sports matches, charity work, business competitions, company skills

Summer Program

Summer trip

There's a one-week summer trip before the MBA courses start in late August, 2013. This is a 360° experience encompassing Chinese history and culture and comprising various learning activities like lectures, on-site classes, sight-seeing tours to five featured cities in China and opportunities for networking with MBA/EMBA alumni.

Pre-MBA Course

Chinese Language Courses
Some degree of proficiency in Chinese language is a must-have skill even if you are not planning to work in China after graduation. Nowadays knowing Chinese is a huge plus for those who aspire to work in multinational companies in any part of the world. Therefore, BiMBA, collaborating with local professional language schools, offers students tailor made Chinese language Schools, offers students tailor-made Chinese language training program before and through their MBA study in China.

Business in China lectures
These lectures and courses provide understanding of China as a country and help students grasp multi-dimensional sensibilities related to Chinese business environment and practices. Topics cover macro-economy and business environment in China, historical and cultural factors that influence people?s mindsets and business behaviors, marketing practices unique to Chin and introduction to China?s political system.
