About the Course

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) will provide managers will the knowledge and skills to produce sustainable improvement in their own performance and in that of their organisations. This course will prepare middle managers to operate in ways which are ethical and sensitive to the environment.

Admission Requirements

This course is no longer available for admission. It is only open to existing students who have already been offered a place and completed one or more units of study.

To qualify for admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA), an applicant should normally be a graduate in any discipline of an approved university or college. Ideally, candidates should have two or more years of work experience. However, applications from less experienced candidates will be considered.


A limited number of non-graduates may be considered for admission on the basis of such criteria as GMAT scores, professional qualifications, references and evidence of significant accomplishment at work.

If English is not their first language, students must provide evidence of competence in English. Students may be required to undertake additional studies in English at the Charles Darwin University.

Credit Transfer and Pathways

Pathways for Higher Education to Higher Education

For information about credit transfer available to students with complete or incomplete study at this or other Institutions refer to Pathways for Higher Education to Higher Education

Credit will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Credit may be granted towards the award for appropriate subjects successfully completed in the last 10 years at recognised tertiary institutions.


Students who have succesfully completed the Master of Engineering Management or the Master of Engineering of Charles Darwin University will receive 80 credit points of advanced standing towards the Master of Business Adminstration (MBA) of Charles Darwin University.

Course Structure


The information provided for this course is valid for the 2006 enrolment year. Students continuing in this course in 2007 and 2008 may find there have been some changes to the unit availability. Students should, in the first instance, refer to the recommended study plan in the newest version of this course to make their unit selection for 2007 and 2008.

Every re-enrolling student will be able to complete their current course of study. As a continuing student you should always consider transferring to the newest course version to enable you to take advantage of new and exciting changes to university programs.
