policy and business practice. The business practice
course consists of a 3.5-month project - either a management
consulting project or a business plan for a company.
·
Students complete the program by taking 20 credits in electives .
·
Bilkent MBA students can take maximum advantage of the summer by either
completing an internship or taking as many as six short
electives mostly offered by visitors from abroad.
·
During the Fall term of the second year, students can take the
business policy and business practice courses as well as
electives, go on an exchange, or complete an internship.
·
Students can take any remaining courses in the Spring term of
the second year.
Summer
Summer electives:
Students can take 2-credit electives during June and July.
These courses meet for two weeks at a rate of 12 hours/week (3
hours/day, 4 days/week). We plan to offer up to three courses
per day (9:00 - 12:00, 1:00 - 4:00, and 5:00 - 8:00). The exact
schedule depends on the schedule of visitors as well as the
conference schedules of our faculty.
Year
2
There
are two required courses in Year 2 which can be taken in either
term:
-
Business Strategy (4)
-
Business Practice (4)
The strategy
course includes at least one ethics case or a case with a strong ethics
component. It also includes a multi-session business simulation
exercise.
The
practice course requires students to either complete a
management consulting project or a business plan for an
organization (not necessarily in Ankara). Projects will be
completed in groups. There are preparatory lectures in the
first two weeks, a progress report presentation in Week 8 and a
final presentation at the end of the semester. The instructor, the
client, and peers all contribute to
the evaluation.

Exchanges: About half our current MBA class goes on an exchange during the Fall semester of Year 2.
We expect this pattern to continue as we increase the number of our partner schools. The availability of the required
courses in either semester makes it easy for our students to go on exchanges. We have exchange programs with
45 universities in 23 countries and we intend to increase the number of partners in the coming years.
For more detail on exchanges, please visit our
exchange web.
Part-time Program
The flexibility of our program makes
the part-time MBA degree easy to complete. The following sample schedule allows a working student to complete the degree
in 3 years as required by YOK without having to take more than 2 courses in any semester. It is possible to complete this
program in 16 months.
