Low GMAT, Good GPA

I'm really confused about what to do about my Graduate studies. I studied for months and got a 510 on my GMAT.So now I'm so burned out, that any thought of taking the GMAT again makes my stomach turn. Maybe in 2 years, I might take it again. Anyway hate standardized tests.

Can anyone suggest what schools in Europe or the US I could apply to ? I don't want to go to a top tier school but the school needs to be AACSB accredited. I also need to be on campus, so distance learning (online) is no good.

GMAT: 510
GPA: 3.58
Major: Accounting
Possible Grad Major: International Business, MBA, Non-profit Management or Administration

Thanks in advance !

i'm in a similar situation, except that i've got a low gpa and am hoping to get a high gmat score. I'm looking for schools in Spain, they don't have to be the best, but something that's more 'easy' to get accepted into. Any ideas anyone??

There have been loads of discussions about Spanish b-school, also about others than the top 5.
If I remember right Pompeu Fabra could be something for you, here you find more info:
www.find-mba.com/university/226/universitat-pompeu…
.. and bottom of that page you find links to all the recent threads about that school of this discussion board

The other school that sounded quite good: Carlos III, here the (long -sorry...) link:
www.find-mba.com/university/1647/universidad-carlo…

But be aware, some Spanish schools seem to be more a rip off and of low quality, people discussed that also

I'm glad to know that I am not the only one with this situation. I see that most European schools do not look at the GMAT at all? Is this a sign that the final degree is a "rip off" as you called it, or of lower quality?

This is not true - most of them will want GMAT or equivalent, but you can certainly find some school that would not want it/overlook the low score. there are some very good schools in Europe, but you have to do some research...

generally speaking, if it is a good school, and it doesn't ask for GMAT, then the admission process would be even more competitive....

Yes, this confused me too. But under admission requirements for several schools I have found, "GMAT and TOEFL are not required for admission to the MBA Programme, but will positively reflect on your admission application."

Thanks for the quick replies and website links.

Low GMAT, Good GPA - NO PROBLEM

If you are looking to get into an MBA program and have low GMAT scores treat this like a business problem. You MUST get to know, personally, the people in admissions in the University you want to attend, and SELL YOURSELF to them. Let them know what your DIFFERENTIALS are, and keep trying to close the deal with them. YOu will get in even if it is on probation, where you have to prove yourself. Ask yourself now, do you even KNOW the people who will be taking your application to the committee? If the answer is no, make some phone calls (Skype is cheap and can call land lines) and then sell yourself.

Good luck you can do it. you just have to prove if you have what it takes to get an MBA a bit earlier than the other guys.
