Full time Vs Part time
Good evening to everybody:Sat Aug 23, 2008 05:57 PM Following several days of scouting the web, reading posts over posts and of course thinking… I need your help or at least some reflection points/feedbacks :) Assuming no constraints on money/life (!!strong statement!!) would be better for me (based on my profile) to take a full-time MBA or and Executive one ? Here some data about me: - Computer Engineering degree - 29 yrs, Italian (but I’ll have 30 or 31 when I will start the program as I still have to submit everything) - GBP 3.78 - 4.5 years of working experience as of today (out of which 4 months in US) (will be 5-6 at the time of program start) in a big multinational company - GMAT / TOEFL to be done I’ve read several articles about full time Vs part time, here my observations: -I like to get in contact with the class (discussion/team sessions…) so I’m conscious that the full time version would be a more stimulating experience (in the executive version you have “only” few weeks of physical attendance) -I know that a part-time MBA would be better to get a promotion inside my actual company but I’m not able to evaluate if in the future I’ll need to change firm… let’s say I’m looking for an MBA that provides anyway a career service for connections with the job market -I’m looking for an European MBA (out of scope US) as I’m interested in working in the EU area afterwards Here my list (EMBA): 1.ESCP… good rank among EU MBA, really international, campus in Paris, Turin, Madrid, Berlin, London…any experiences on this EMBA ? 2.Bocconi.. maybe too Italian…what if the Italian economy continues to go down in the future? I need a program “sellable” also outside Italy. Anyway great reputation in Italy and convenient from a logistic standpoint (I’m near..) Do you think I am (or better I will be) too old to enroll a full-time MBA ? Thanks for your help…I’m getting crazy with all the websites…:) Andrea |
