Finance at HKU is pretty weak not sure if you are aware of that, you would be able to take few classes on exchange at LBS or Columbia but overall HKU is by no means a finance school. |

The best finance focused program you can enroll in Hong Kong is M.S. in Global Finance NYU/HK-UST dual degree program, but this is more of an executive type of program. Mon Aug 04, 2008 02:45 AM HKU is developing, but HK-UST is still miles ahead especially when it comes to Finance and Entrepreneurship. |

Good question!Mon Aug 04, 2008 12:38 PM But, just because someone is enthusiastic about a school, hopefully doesnt necessarily mean that they are being paid to market it! |

I take that as a no. There have been several people trying to "sell" HKUST on this board inn the last year. HKUST actually would not need that kind of promotion. |

yes i would agree with your comment, in HK, HK-UST does not need any promotion. I believe the school in question at first was HKU and I voiced my opinion, that is all. |

Work experience and future potential is the key consideration in that program, its sorts of an alternative to EMBA for people stricly interested in Finance in Asia-Pacific. This program was my number one choice but the first intake was extremely competitive and I did not make it. Many VPs, PMs, Traders, etc, certainly not for someone looking to switch industries. As for prospects if you can get in, its really good networking to say the least. |
