MBA without GMAT
Hi everyone,Wed Jul 09, 2008 03:44 PM Currently and actively searching MBA, I'm facing a problem. I've got still one year to do in order to complete my master degree (here in france) after what I want to enter an MBA. Thus I don't think I will have the time during the next year to pass the GMAT (and have a suitable score). I'll have done my whole formation in internship so I should justify about 3 years of work experience. I know it sounds crazy and assume most US universities ask for the GMAT but I did find in UK many universities that don't ask for it... So my question is quite simple: Does exist MBA which doesn't have in their admission requirement the GMAT? ps: I'm interested in MBA in general management and don't have special restriction for the location (California would be better for me though). Thanks in advance, Fox [Edited 09 Jul 2008 by Fox] |

Hi coldeepak,Thu Sep 11, 2008 12:55 PM Just one question: are you looking for some advice or posting your CV in the hope that someone will give you a place on the basis of seeing it here? If the latter, although you sound very impressive, I'm afraid that's not how this board works. If the former, why not try using the search facility on this website to identify some schools which interest you, go to their web pages, and find out what their entrance criteria are. On the basis of what you've said, it sounds like you won't be short of offers. |

Hi coldeepak,Fri Sep 12, 2008 11:14 AM Glad to be of service. I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what you'd like me to do with the above info, however. I would say, thought, that if you're looking to take am MBA outside India then it's very likely you'll have to take a GMAT or equivalent. But don't worry! Noone likes them. If you use the search facility on this site you can also find loads of stuff on here on what to expect, problems, procedures, and how best to approach them. All the best, lukeh |

There are many B-schools in UK, which do not ask for GMAT. Even there are universities which do not ask for TOEFL or IELTS.

That may be true, but Cass, Imperial, Judge, LBS, Said and Warwick all say they require at least 3 years' experience and good GMAT scores. The best way to find out which schools require it or not is to just run through the list and check yourself. A good place to start might be find-mba.com's list of the most popular UK B-schools.Mon Oct 20, 2008 01:53 PM www.find-mba.com/most-popular/uk-ireland |

They're not first rank, but they're all pretty good at what they, especially in those areas in which they specialise (Aberdeen and energy, for example). Of the three, only Nottingham features in the Economist's top 100 European MBA programmes, at 93. But then it's all relative, isn't it? And rankings aren't everything. Liverpool, for example, is the best city, with the greatest football club, in the world. It's MBA isn't.

MBA without GMAT
i m 26 yr old. i have done my mca from mumbai university with a 1st class.Sun Oct 26, 2008 05:38 AM my work experience is 1 yr which i did in my last yr of mca. I have also worked for a local company as a networking engineer. I had secured a job in a sewi cmm level 5 company in july 2008 but the joining date was postponed repeatedly due to the market issues. Now i m thinking of taking up a MBA from some university in uk. i dont mind giving GMAT but when do the batches for Mba start ?and are their any job guarantees after finishing the course considering the economic condition of UK. Which is a good university for doing mba in IT. |
