Hi,Fri May 16, 2008 12:31 PM Well, none of the schools you list are in the top 60 European Business Schools according to the FT, but this shouldn't put you off. You should also look at the RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) scores, which rate the standard and wealth of research and teaching in UK university departments. Cardiff is regularly placed in the top 100 schools, and recently scored 5 (the top score) in the RAE. I would consider the areas you want to specialise in. For example, Cardiff offers quite a strong looking programme specifically designed for working in the public sector. Liverpool is strong in econometric analysis and ethnographic approaches to research, and is also forming new research groups and centres, including Business History, Health Economics, and the Centre for Experiential Consumption.Aberdeen offers you the possibility of specialising in oil and gas management and transport strategy. But its also important that you chose a city where you want to study and live for the duration of your MBA. Hope that helps. |
