job prospects after persuing MBA from Germany...
Hi there,Mon Jan 26, 2009 08:28 PM Both Offenburg and FHW Berlin are Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany. That means that they are not real universities, but a bit more like commercial colleges. They do not have to do research and therefore they will never manage to enter the international rankings and, of course, they are not internationally accredited. They may offer a solid education, but not more. And career services are normally poor at those institutions. Best, JL |

Information about Hochschule Offenburg - Offenburg University of Applied Science
Tue Feb 03, 2009 05:51 PM Hi, Hi, I am an MBA graduate from University of Applied Sciences Offenburg. Even if it is not internationally accredited, it has an outstanding list of professors and guest lecturers, which is more than worth the cost of the program. It is in a beautiful location, low living costs and easily accessible to Strasbourg in France and Switzerland. It is really international, you can say every student in the class is of different nationality. Small class ensures a really interactive learning. I could not afford to pay high fees for MBA from Mannheim, which is 4 X more than here. Even a students who transferred from Pforzheim has mentioned that MBA in Offenburg has a much better content and structure. Job opportunities are not lacking, all alumni who have decided to stay in Germany did manage to get a job (within their internship semester or immediately upon graduation). So it is really up to you on how best to make use of your opportunity here. [Edited by link updater on 03 Feb 2009] |

MBA in Holland/ Norway
hi to all of you,Fri Feb 13, 2009 01:14 PM i am a Ghanaian from Ghana with a 4year degree in Bachelor of Fine Art with a Second (2nd) class Upper Honors. I have been working for the past 5 years in the advertising industry but i realized i need to do something more challenging. i have therefore decided to pursue a MBA in Project Management in Holland or any recognized European country. 1. Is it possible and Do i stand a chance, though i didn't study business in school? 2. Are MBA degrees from Holland and Norway recognized worldwide? I need an answer as soon as possible. Thank you. Hello sarabjitsidhu,Wed Feb 18, 2009 10:53 AM Thanks for the insights into the program. I have a few questions about the program as I am planning on applying there. The low cost is the attraction factor for me. * I wanted to know about about he teaching format. From the website it seems that most of the classes are in a seminar format, how does that work? * How does the Uni help in finding internships and jobs after the completion of the program. I could not find any career statistics (Avg. salary, companies etc.) on their website. * Do they have any form of campus recruitment? What type of profiles do students usually go for after completing the program? * How is the recession affecting the hiring of foreigners in Germany after completion of the MBA program? * How would you compare this program to the Berlin MBA program offered by IMB. * You seem to be on their marketing staff, is your advice really unbiased/ untainted? Thanks for your help. Best. Gaurav. Hi, |

job prospects after persuing MBA from Germany...
Hi, My name is Sreeja and am an Indian. I am a Bachelor in Engineering and have 7.6 years of industrial experience including functioning in managerial capacity. I would like to know which schools are better in terms of quality education and job market (after MBA). I am aiming to apply for the September session. I am writing IELTS and GMAT in April this year. I also wish to know how a German MBA grad can compete in the international/ European market in comparison with Grads from UK/ France/ USA, is it at par?. I plan to learn German before I come to Germany. Are there enough jobs available for potential MBA Grads? I intend to work in Germany after Graduation. Is it possible to work part-time while doing MBA. I intend to do MBA in International Business or some other stream that suits me. What do you think about a General MBA? Job prospects? Should I steer clear with any schools?

job prospects after persuing MBA from Germany...
Hi there,Wed Mar 18, 2009 06:29 PM As far as I can oversee it, GISMA is only ranked with its EMBA in the FT ranking (together with TiasNimbas, Purdue, and CEU). The fulltime program is not listed. Last year some media in the Hanover area reported that they have to struggle with financial problems. In fact, they are not first choice in Germany. Best, JL |

NEED ADVICE about MBA
Hi LaVoz, or someone else that could help me.I would like to ask You for some advice, when it's possible. I'm from Macedonia and at the moment staying in Germany-Mannheim. I would like to do MBA here in Germany, but I don't know what kind of MBA to choose.I speak german language also. I have Bachelor(or graduate in Metall engineering) in Macedonia. I hope that after MBA I'll stay in Germany or maybe back in Macedonia, but anyway It have to be on international. Here in Mannheim is a Business School but it is too exepensive for MBA 29.000 euro. I don't know what to do and where should I go. I haven't done GMAT and TOEFL yet and also I'm scared that I ain't gonna make for the date line for the next semestar. I would be gratefull if You'll give me some usefull advices. BEst regards, Maja

What is the opinion about Georg Simon Ohm Management Institute
it seems it is only accredited by Acquin(Akkreditierungs-, Certifizierungs- und Qualitätssicherungs-Instituts), a German accreditation institute, and doesn't have any of the important accreditation. it is usually not recommended to study in a B school which doesn't hold at least one of the important ones(AACSB, AMBA or EQUIS).Mon Mar 30, 2009 01:18 PM they have 2 programs, one for people with, and one for people without any business education. as for the other good schools in Germany, just search the board, and you will quickly find the answer yourself! |

job prospects after persuing MBA from Germany...
Guys, Sat Jun 13, 2009 01:40 AM Remember one thing that MBA from Germany is not internationally ranked, which means that once you move out of Germany, it is least likely that you will get any real advantage. When you will compete with students from other internationally ranked business schools, you will find that you receive a second class treatment. I would suggest you guys to target only top 30 institutions of the world as in the FT rankings. You migh be fascinated by the German MBA stamp at this point of time but you might come acorss serious challenges in this crisis, when even the graduates of leading business schools face challenge to get a good job. It also depends, how far you want to go with your MBA. If you wish to be a industry leader in international environment or something, then no one cares for MBA's from such institutions. MBA is one time investment, better wait and take the right options, else you might feel like to have not achieved much. I stayed in Germany for few years, and i can tell you that Hochschule is not something great in Germany. So you can look out at some better options in other European countries. Hope it helps. Cheers, Rox |

there are not a huge number of jobs in St.Gallen itself, but that is a nice place to be unemployed! If you don't speak german and aren't part of a network, it can be almost impossible to find a job. english speakers at the university join international companies because of the reputation and network of the career services, but without it you could be limited to French/english teaching positions.Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:40 AM You should have a look on www.experteer.ch/ and try applying for a few jobs to see what the feedback is. |

course, Zurich is a lot more attractive for jobs. You are comparing a small university town with one of the worlds most important financial capitals....Mon Jul 06, 2009 10:29 PM one question though, why are you posting on an MBA forum since you are looking for jobs and not an MBA? You should be on www.englishforum.ch instead. |
