BIMBA
Looking for some good advice from you all to help me decide : Mon Feb 11, 2008 02:14 PM Australian engineer currently working in China. Looking at doing FT MBA here. Basic language skills (but improving slowly...). Currently in a reasonable job, but it has no opportunities for advancement. I'm finding that better opportunities require 'more' (education and language). Wanting to use the MBA to open more doors and gain the formal education. Needs to be useable back in Aus in case can't get a good job again here in China. Career is moving towards being more of a Technical/Operations/Manufacturing/Business manager than a technical specialist. Looking at BIMBA 1 year (they told me one year, but many sites say 18m ?) USD 20k - affordable can't find much written about it in terms of use in and out of China. CEIBS 18m, USD35k - upper level of affordablity seems to be mainly for those intending to work in Shanghai Guanghua 2 years (too long ?), USD20k - affordable seems to have a good reputation / recognition Tsinghua 2 years (too long ?), USD20k - affordable seems to have a good reputation / recognition (technical ?) 1) what's the difference between Guanghua & BIMBA ? 2) is CEIBS worth it outside ShangHai ? 3) can BIMBA be done in 12 months ? 4) how does BIMBA compare to all the above ? Closing dates are fast approaching, so I appreciate your advice so I can make a balanced decison. Thanks ! |

Mon Feb 11, 2008 04:30 PM 3) can BIMBA be done in 12 months ? "The regular MBA program lasts for 18 months, with 10 weeks and 4 courses every semester." Source: The official website: enweb.bimba.edu.cn/english/en/kc01.php Of course, they could have changed the program duration and have forgotten to update the website ;-) |

The difference between Guanghua and BIMBA:Tue Feb 12, 2008 10:48 AM If I remember correctly from two years ago when I asked this question myself, Guanghua MBA is the MBA programme executed by Bejing University Faculty of Business Administration, while BIMBA is the MBA programme executed by International Center of Economic/Business Whatever (sorry, cannot remember the name) in Bejing University. |

Chinese MBAs are on the rise. I would rather do an MBA in Europe or US (Top 10 if possible) with an exchange at your favourite Chinese school and you get the best of both experiences.Tue Feb 12, 2008 12:31 PM |
