There are some more. I didn't have more time yesterday to look them up for you.

But I must say your request limits que choice quite a lot. Especially the good MBAs require alll the GMAT. Also, it's more typical for Canada to offer 2 year MBAs, like in the US. But about one school out of two has a one year version too

maite: MBA in Canada without GMAT

I confirm what Juanito writes, Most MBA programs require GMAT, and that`s not a Canadian specialty at all.

I would even say that you should be suspicious about unknown programs NOT requiring GMAT - that can mean that they don`t attract enough people, and that they accept everyohne, even those who have a bad profile - not a good place to study then.

In fact, the school has to measure somehow the capacities and qualification of the candidate. That`s why top programs sometimes are fine with other prooves than GMAT if the student establishes that he/she is far, but very far beyond average.

So, taking into account the above and what Juanito stated, its normal that out of the 40-50 MBA programs in Canada only a small list corresponds to what you are looking for.

Here some more information that might be interesting for you:

The admission section of the MBA at University of New Brunswick it says: "students with a GPA of 3.2/4.3 or higher may be eligible for a GMAT waiver"

If you speak French, you might have a have a look also at:
Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) MBA - AND
Université de Sherbrooke (Québec)
I did not find any mention of GMAT

Hope that helped?

Not at all, we kind of finished the above discussion, anyways MBAs not requiring GMAT is a very specific, marginal request.

Regarding your question, there are quite a few one year programs in Canada. From my personal research I got the impression that the general model in Canada is the 2-year version like in the US, but a lot of schools offer both.

I started my research going through the FIND MBA Canada section, where I went through the programs one by one. It's only 5 pages, some 40 MBAs, very well feasible.
But I think you can even narrow your research with specific parameters using the reseach function (head of this page on the right side, button: "Search MBA")

Thanks a lot Maite. I appreciate your effort.
Let me give you an overview of my background.
I am an IT professional (expertising in database systems) with 4 years of work exp. I would like to stick to the filed of IT and use my MBA to excel in my existing field.
First of all, does that make sense ?
Well, what specific courses would help me in my purpose. Are there any specific courses for tecnical graduates with work exp (like IT finance etc).
The sole purpose of 1 year MBA is its pace. .

Thanks again for your effort

maite: MBA in Canada without GMAT

I understand, one year is quicker, and also far lower in costs.

As for your profile, I can't help you I'm afraid, since I have a law beackground, I studied law and economics and don't know about IT. Sorry for that :-(

But generally speaking you can either stick to your field, or chose a general MBA if you head more for positions of management of a company specialised in the field. That depends n your personal preferences. You sound more like wanting to specialize in your field, that's fine.

For the courses, I don't understand very well, do you mean something outside an MBA or in the MBA program?

There are very few MBA programs in Canada that would be worth the investment that don't require the GMAT. The good schools like UBC Sauder, Concordia Molson, and York Schulich - all require you to take the GMAT.

Additionally, each of these schools and similar ones require you to have at least two years of work experience, which it doesn't sound like you have.
