EMBA in China / HK
Hi guys,Sun Aug 26, 2007 01:10 AM I am planning to take a EMBA (not MBA) program soon, so I would like to know your opinion on some of the top programs here. I will get at least partial sponsorship from my company, so I am not too concerned with difference in tuition. But as I work for a large firm, I would like to go to a program that is recognized globally, not just in the region, as I may relocate to other parts of the world. Since I am based in Shanghai now, I prefer to take a program not too far away here. My top preference is Kellogg-HKUST, but its program is quite intentive and would require me to fly to HK twice a month so I haven't decided. Other programs are: - CEIBS - INSEAD Dual EMBA program with Beijing - USC Marshall EMBA joint program with Shanghai Jiao Tong Univ - Washington Olin EMBA joint program with Shanghai Fudan Univ - Cheung Kong EMBA Does anyone have insight in those programs? Thanks. |

Sun Sep 16, 2007 04:02 AM Hi guys, In the US everyone wants to go to Wharton or Harvard. In HK/China everyone aims for Kellogg/HK UST, this is by miles the top EMBA over here. If you can get in, do not even hesitate.... |

Take a look at University of Western Ontario (IVEY). They have a campus in Hong Kong. They use the case teaching method and their latest rankings from the Wall Street Journal is very high (above Wharton, Kellogg, Harvard and Standford). Although I am sure a lot of people might not agree. Here's the link: www.harrisinteractive.com/services/bschools.asp

If you want to meet top notch people in China, then you should definitely go to CKGSB. About more than 50% of the top business man are graduates from that school. They also boast the top paid faculties in Asia with a 20% premium over top business schools

I agree, that's the best school to get China connections. If one plans to work or do business in China, CKGSB is a great choice.

Thanks everyone. I decided to apply for one school only - Kellogg-HKUST and I was accepted in October. School starts in January. Later I heard their FT ranking climbed to #1 and they would raise tuition next year. So I guess I saved some money... :-) |
