In response to your questions:
1. Yes, the MBA from the two top universities (AGSM and MBS) are recognised worldwide. In Asia Pacific and Europe in particular. If you read one of my posting, the UK government (immigration) even recognised these two schools and granted full points for HSMP application for the graduates. I also personally know two persons who are working for top companies in the UK. There are also others from my alumni who are working in Europe. No one who I know that went back to the US though, their personal choices.

You can also see the distributions of work places of post-MBA from these universities in their published career reports (usually publicly available from their websites).

I also believe that they are recognised in the US. It's just that like many other things (music, film industries, etc. you name it), the US is very protective and self centered in their recognition. So it may look as if they recognise graduates from other countries less than those from American schools. But still, these two OZ schools are listed in the top 100 MBA schools from FT ranking and employers worldwide keep track of this. So, good companies will know it if you studied at AGSM or MBS.

2. Don't just believe of what you heard or read from individuals. The best place to look for hard facts of career placement opportunities are again the schools career reports. I believe they are pretty good. Again, FT rankings take employment and career records as criteria for ranking. The implied message is that schools that are listed and have good rankings did have good career placements.

MBA schools run career weeks for their students where potential employers give presentations and students can apply for jobs. But, just like anywhere in the world, some people got jobs through these events, others got it from their own search or networks.

From my own experience, a lot of students got employment before they graduated, many got a job within three months post graduation. There were a few that got a job longer than that. I guess it mostly stems from mismatching of individual's expectations (type of job, company, level of salary) and company's expectations/requirements.

From all pool of students, even MBA-ers, there are those who did not take their studies seriously and got poor grades. As we know, it may not come as a surprise that not many top companies would want to employ these students. Other reasons may be just that no suitable opportunities or luck as yet, so that these few ppl were still looking for jobs long after they graduated.

I have a personal friend who got a scholarship and studied at a great US school but still looking for job after he graduated. Another friend is an exchange student from a top US university who did not find it easy to get a job even in Australia despite his good grades and work experiences.

All things equal (ability to get admitted, preference for study duration, money, location, etc.), I would recommend you to go to the top US universities. But, if not I would recommend you to go to either AGSM or MBS in Australia. I chose Australia for three main reasons: great education/school, duration (faster than 2 years in the US) and cost (relatively less expensive).

In sum, the MBAs mentioned are recognised worldwide and if you do good in your study the career placements opportunities are great.

i m shoaib salman from pakistan, I am now doing my B.com its my final year and i just want to do MBA from Australia. i dont know anything about process and all, i m really looking forward for some guiding steps can anyone please tell me about all that? can i have addmission in MBA ( australia ) by passing my B .com? thanx n thanx again 4 ur time and ya, can i work there as an MBA after my MBA?


and what about MBS? Melbourne Business School
if i apply for a full time MBA so can i work there while studing MBA?
