Need help with business school selection
Hi everyoneThu Feb 28, 2013 08:48 PM I am trying to finalize business schools I can still apply and get admitted for fall of 2013 session. My profile details are, Gmat Score: 700 Tofel: 100 Education background: Very good academics background. Electronics and telecommunication engg from presstigious college in India. I was top 2 students in college. Been a merit student through out academics. Work Exp: total of 2 years experience in financial industry as analyst and 1 year in BPO as maintenance engg. Social profile: recommnadation/volunteer work not significant. Prefer to be in Atlanta area and second choice is East coast of USA Most important criteria: job possibility after gradution and low cost (living cost as well as overall program cost - if scholarships are available for top student..then that is preferred). I was thinking about Goizueta@Emory, Cornell Johnson or Ross. Can you also tell me what are the well known tier 2 / 3 colleges. I would like to apply atleast 2 / 3 of them as back up. Thanks for the help, |

Mon Mar 04, 2013 10:55 AM gmat score of 700, amazing. go all the way to harvard or stanford Stanford and Harvard would be reach schools for this candidate - the average GMATs there are around 730, and admitted applicants tend to have about 4 years of experience. |

at this point all the tier 1 schools are a reach because I have yet to apply anywhere and most of the tier 1 schools are already in round 4.Mon Mar 04, 2013 04:31 PM What I am looking for is a decent list of tier 2 schools which I have good shot at getting in even now. If anyone have the list or names, let me know. Thanks |

Because this candidate has little work experience their GMAT is not enough to get into a Tier One MBA - especially if they want to study outside India. They should look at the bottom of GMAT Tier Two and Tier Three.
