What are your career goals?Fri Mar 01, 2013 10:21 AM UCT is a great school - probably the best in South Africa. Do you want to end up working there? One thing I'd keep in mind is that the average work experience at UCT is around 7 years - a bit above where you are right now. |

Hi Ezra,Sat Mar 02, 2013 05:19 PM Thanks for your reply.I am more than willing to work in South Africa. Is the average age of 7 years of work experience rigid ??Can it be managed by a high GMAT score or something. Also the site says minimum age for application to be 25 years...Do you have any idea in this regard. Career Goals : Successful career in operating strategy or general management or finance. Thanks [Edited by himanshu1290 on 02 Mar 2013] |

Tue Mar 05, 2013 01:50 PM Also the site says minimum age for application to be 25 years...Do you have any idea in this regard. I'd assume that's an absolute requirement, but check with them directly. But since they generally recruit people with around 7 years of experience, it seems that 25-30ish would be the age range they're looking for. i went their once and it is not a very safe place for non blacks. That's a very broad generalization based on limited data. Many international students study in Cape Town each year, and find it fine. I'd recommend that if you are curious about studying there, do your own research based on facts (and not hearsay) and visit the place before you commit to living there for a year or more. |

Wed Mar 06, 2013 04:27 AM Also the site says minimum age for application to be 25 years...Do you have any idea in this regard. Good suggestion. You should spend few days before any long term commitment. I know that probably spending one year to do MBA does not make Cape Town very unsafe but i assumed that you would stay there post MBA as well and that is where you need to be very careful with your decision to moving to South Africa.
