French insitutions are the most likely to offer grants for students from Senegal, for obvious historical reasons. If you excell with good results in your previous studies it should be possible to get funding. Laurent

The coopération service offers scholarships for students from Senegal willing to study in France on the level of 3e cycle. They really have a very good service at ambassade de France helping how apply for scholarship. Do you or anyone know about scholarships to study in other European countries, maybe by governments or other insitutions? I imagine there is a lot less then for France, but I would still be very interested.

Usually schools themselves offer a very limited number of scholarships (eg 2 or 3) for students with outstanding results, like CBS mentioned by Suzy above. I didn't find any other school with a program like CBS, particularly aiming at students like me from poor countries for whom its difficult to afford the MBA. Otherwise governments have interesting scholarship programs, besides France f.ex.: The Dutch Ministry of Education and Sciences offers scholarships covering costs of living expenses within the framework of cultural agreements between the Netherlands and other countries. Information is available from the Dutch embassy or consulate in your country or from the Nuffic website.

The only thing you can really do it go to the schools' individual websites and see what they say, or contact them directly. It's also worth having a look at their alumni sections, as they might contain details of how people funded their studies. Sometimes individuals will also set up special scholarship funds for people studying particular areas or from particular parts of the world. You could try contacting your local education authority in case they offer anything, and might also consider some form of corporate sponsorship if you are already in employment. Increasingly students tend to combine scholarship income from a variety of sources simultaneously rather than from just one source. Bear in mind, too, that many universities have what (in England, at least) are referred to as 'Hardship Funds', though these can range from a few thousand pounds - or their equivalent - to the hundreds, sometimes even less.
