I want to go to Munich for an MBA. How is the situation concerning housing? Is it difficult, expensive? What area is good?

I have never lived in Munich, but I know that it is not so easy to find a flat for rent, and prices are higher that other cities in Germany. More like European average (Paris, Barcelona...). In the central areas it should be nice, the old town. But depends as well where the school is.

The school is somewhere ouside the center I think, "Riem" it's called, maybe you heard of?Mon Nov 06, 2006 11:27 AM Anyway, I prefer to live in a central area. That seem to be these neighbourhoods in that typical German "medieval" style... sorry to write like a tourist... :) But I saw some pictures of other more residential areas, a bit outside the center, and found that kind of gloomy. |

Hi Sunny, Tue Nov 07, 2006 02:41 PM I don't know this place called Riem, but I have been to Munich because I was considering to study there too. It is exactly how you say it is in the center, typical German medieval style, that's why you should look for something central I think. I remember that Schwabing and Bogehousen (something like that) looked really nice, and they are both near this big very pleasant park. |

Bogenhausen and Schwabing are nice neighbourhoods, and in the center. I can advise in addition the two following:Wed Nov 08, 2006 02:58 PM - Glockenbachviertel - Lehel (near Isartor) Both are really cozy, even more in the center, and near the S-Bahn-line, the train you need to take to get to Riem. Greetings from Jörg |
