@mamit: thankyou for your great advise on msc in construction management. i hv gone through the link you provided me and found birmingham and other universities offering interesting msc programmes. it will help.

@jk duncan & mamit: i hv one more thing to ask. my present planning is to pursue a masters in construction management abroad and further want to work in an MNC for 2-3yrs there to gain deep knowledge and exposure in construction field as in future i want to come back to india and start my own construction company. specially to do/contribute something good in this field. so i need ur opinions on this and whether it is good for me to go uk to study and work or should i study and work within asia as in future i want to run business in india.
thankyou again.

without Gmat and work exp. forget about decent college or univ. for MBA

and most important thing DO NOT GO UK/IRELAND because it is impossible to find work after study for NON-EU student.

i know that most of indian do MBA by investing all there hard earned money and expect good return in term of high paying job but frankly speking it is not right time for you to invest your money for MBA in UK and other european countries.

for more info try google for work after study in uk

Well, it's not impossible, but it is very hard. And, in particular, it's extremely hard for people graduating from unranked 'freshers' MBAs without international accreditation.

Of course if you want to study abroad and then return to India there are lots of places to go. Mainland Europe has lots of MSc programmes taught in English which are much less costly than UK degrees. Look at www.mastersportal.eu

thankyou shweta and jk duncan for your valuable input.

@shweta: if uk/ireland is not that good for non-eu then what about pursuing an mba from canada.

@jk duncan: i visited the link you had given me and found some interesting msc programmes in construction management in angelia ruskin univ., salford and greenwich. but i am not aware which one of these will get me good career opportunities further in getting jobs as a fresher in uk or globally. put some more input on this.

With no work experience I would suggest to opt for MSc program in the UK instead of MBA. As you can target top schools offering MSc courses for freshers.

@lsk I don't know construction programmes but take a look at unistats.direct.gov.uk/ for state data on colleges.

i think canada is safest option to invest your money because they are giving post study work permit for 3 years and more over this is open work permit.

look you dont have GMAT , so there is no chance of getting FT ranked college.I woud like to suggest search for canadian master program.

i am sure you will find a decent course in canada.

you are from india so i am going to write in hindi so that you can get it in DESI STLYE

dekho agr aap gye UK/IRELAND vha apko koi bda reputed college to ne milne wala, or agr work permit ki bat hai to vo bhi bhot rare case hai kyonke appko course khtm hote hi kisi bhi authorised employer se offer letter chahiye hoga jo ki NON-EU ke liye namumkin hai. yaar UK ja ke paisa lagao ge or vapis india aa jao ge to fayada kya????

it is not a wise decision to invest in dollars and earn in rupees.

hope you understand. i am saying this because it happened with one of my friend

Hi Isk. When you talk about quality of education and technology I am sure UK is far better than Canada. And to be honest real estate market is at boom in India, therefore working in India would be more beneficial then working in foreign country at this time, where most of the developed countries are in recession.
Main to ye hi advice karoonga ki get a degree from the best university and come back to india immediately and work in India. coz there is a huge potential in India for next 8 years, dont loose this opportunity.
And work permit ka kya fayeda agar job na mile to.

for exposure you can do an intern-ship with a company in uk for some time.
But believe me construction business in India is totally different than in the UK. due to lot of political factors.
