I have been through lots of MBA applications recently and I have been reading the posts in here where Tiasnimbas is not getting really good reviews. I have seen posts however on Henley, Grenoble and you will be surprised that those schools dont ask for GMAT or interviews!!! How can this be? I have been through both and I never even spoke to 1 person or was asked about my gmat which I find quite odd. At tias I had 2 tough interviews among other things... so... is it worth it? I dont want to stay at the Netherlands after the MBA so no issues here with finding a job there but is the quality of fthe education good?

Don't be misled into thinking that it's only the quality of the education that matters. The quality of the students and the network also matter: the school network is a constant resource and brand mark.

Hi Duncan!
Henley did not ask me for a gmat score and thats for the FT MBA program and that was 3 weeks ago... obviously its a combination of things I just find it funny that those schools are ranked higher including supposely quality of students when they dont even bother interviewing or asking for exams results?

Have you applied to them? Or was it just a conversation? I guess they didn't ask what your average undergraduate percentage was either, but I guess they'll want to see that as well. I can't imagine that any of the well-ranked schools will admit full-time MBA candidates without copies of the transcripts.

I did send my transcripts and all. I have a BA in Hospitality Management with some financial backround but very basic stuff. I have received a letter of acceptance and even a small amount as a scholarship.
What is your general view on Tias? do people seem to thing it is worth it?

Interesting, so you got admission without GMAT? They are offering a lot of scholarships this year as well.

TiasNimbas is a funny little school. I think they've lost a lot of what they bought when they took over Nimbas. Tilburg has a great reputation but don't think they have improved on the Nimbas/Bradford structure by compressing all the teaching into October-April and then just having the project in the second half of the year. I realise that's much easier for the lecturers.

I also wonder about the very small scale of the programme. I think it's hard to get good traction with employers.

Agreed with Dunkan,

TiasNimbas is a very small school. They now partner with various in Europe. It is in Utrecht and in the center, which makes it a nice place to live.

Tiasnimbas isn't really known in Holland among the general population. There is another one, Nyenrode which is famous, but in my opinion lost its glory-days a little while ago. It is not ranked.

I think it depends, but at TiasNimbas you are sure not to have too many more contacts (as the classes are small). However, this can be benefitial as the cotacts might be for life.

TiasNimbas runs its full-time MBA at Tilburg University, which is down by the Belgian border - around an hour's drive south of Utrecht.

Yeah they changed the full-time to Tilburg, which is weird as the exec is in Utrecht. I think that Nimbas was better before it was taken over. Nevertheless, class size is small. One advantage of Tilburg is that it is cheap to live. Especially in comparison to Utrecht.

Neils, if you want to be an MBA admissions consultant you can't carry on getting stuff wrong and then waiting for other consultants to correct your mistakes. It's *not* weird that they moved their full-time MBA to Tilburg because Tilburg University bought NIMBAS and moved both the full-time MBA and the international executive MBA to the Tilburg campus.

The regular executive MBA also runs on the Tilburg campus. NIMBAS's German campuses have been closed and the Utrecht offer will continue to recede in importants.

Also, they intended first to keep everything in Utrecht and move to a Utrecht University Building. I know that you will now do your utmost to find an article that argues against that, but this is what they were saying when I was there.

So hence the "weird" for Tilburg. Also, tilburg is not a metropolitan city!

Niels, I spelt your name wrong because in several posts you have spelt my name wrong. I thought that's how you liked to play.

If you think it's odd that Nimbas was moved on the campus of Tilburg University (which bough Nimbas) rather than the University of Utrecht (which did not) then there's really nothing I can do to help you. But that is how it worked out, as you could have found out by reading its website. Don't blame me for your lack of research.

Hmmm, they really told me in person that they wanted to remain and expand in Utrecht as they thought it would build their brand. They were thinking to move into a building of University of Utrecht. They felt the Nieuwe Gracht location is getting too small.

I think though that their progress is kind of stagnant at the moment. Biggest con is a relatively small Alumni.
