Canadian MBAs: work experience requirements
I just came across this post www.find-mba.com/board/6866 from a user who has left the site. It's useful, but some details will be out of date:Thu Jul 26, 2012 01:58 PM I think its still important to acknowledge that even though some university courses are only going to require 2 years work experience, the average number of years of work experience required by MBA schools in Canada is 2.4 years ranging from no work experience required to 5 years. However, on average, Canadian MBA students have 6.4 years of work experience. You might find this list useful: Athabasca University Applicants with a bachelor degree must have at least 3 years of managerial-level work experience; those with an acceptable professional designation but no degree require at least 5 years of managerial-level work experience. Canadian MBAs: work experience requirements
Hi Duncan,Fri Jul 27, 2012 05:15 PM This is a very comprehensive list you've put together. It will definitely be very helpful for some FindMBA users. We noticed that with respect to the University of British Columbia's work experience requirements, the information you posted was inaccurate. The minimum requirement for entrance into the full-time or part-time MBA program is 2 years of full-time work experience gained after graduation from your bachelor’s degree. Our competitive recommendation is at least 3-5 years of full-time work experience for those applying to the full-time program, and between 5-6 years of full-time work experience for those applying to the part-time program. Information on all application requirements can be found here: Full-time – bit.ly/LVrI7q Part-time – bit.ly/PRBQ6f |

Canadian MBAs: work experience requirements
Hi Duncan,Fri Jul 27, 2012 05:58 PM Thanks for updating the post and for the kind words about our campus. We're very lucky to have a campus that is so well-situated, surrounded by both forests and the ocean yet still close to downtown Vancouver. The best of both worlds! |
