St. Gallen is ranked high for its executive MBA: rankings.ft.com/rankings/customProgrammes/rankings…

oh ya, st gallen, saw its web site and noticed the rank, looks fab. only it's in german-speaking county, right? i prefer the french-speaking one. is UNI Lausanne any good? it's accredited to AMBA (or equis? forgot, sorry), but seems it's not ranked anywhere. hm.. thanks much for the replies

To be honest, St Gallen and IMD are the two ones to go for if you want an MBA out of the top ones in the rankings.Mon Sep 25, 2006 03:25 PM So for the French part, IMD - why is that nothing for you? Tuition? I think if you really insist on French speaking Europe you should better look around in France, there is a lot of choice. |

Not accredited? Thats not possible! For me this was one of the serious schools. But maybe I am wrong or mix something up?Thu Sep 28, 2006 04:47 PM I will check that out and come back to you guys, I really don't want to spread wrong information here. |

I just checked their website again. SBS is accredited by several organizations, including FIBAA, which is the most important accreditation organization in German speaking countries. See www.sbs.edu/discover/accreditation.aspThu Sep 28, 2006 08:36 PM The SBS dual MBA with the University of South Australia (UNISA) is accredited by Equis: www.sbs.edu/programs/dualmba.asp - but not the regular MBA. However, that is not unusual for schools in continental Europe and does not mean that the quality of the school is not good. I did not find any ranking including SBS though. I think you should look for some additional information. |

ok, that's what I thought - I was really wondering how could I mix that up.Fri Sep 29, 2006 03:14 PM About the rankings, you don't find SBS in the top ones, that's true, but it is the third Swiss school to appear (sometimes..) in the international rankings after IMD and St. Gallen |

I have been reading all the comments about MBA Switzerland. Is the IMD really the only one you could recommend?Sat Sep 30, 2006 07:16 PM Bert |

GSBA is well-known for its EMBA, but I don't think they offer a regular MBA.

Not everyone likes GSBA. There was a rather critical article about it in Spiegel.de, a German News site: translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http:…

Hi noya,Fri Oct 06, 2006 09:09 AM HEC Lausanne is a quite good school but as you say as well in one of your posts, it is not in the top category. It does not appear in the rankings. So again, if you want to have several options of internationally ranked schools, you better look in France! Jörg [Edited by joergalbers on 06 Oct 2006] |

Hi Uxl, well i had initially excluded IMD from my plan because i try not to take up any loans for my MBA, in case i have to work in Indonesia (am not sure whether the salary will suffice to cover loan repayment). now, after talking to several MBA graduates, i reconsider my earlier view. Will probably apply to IMD and if my savings are not enough, will try scholarships or loans. cheers

Hello Noya, Fri Oct 20, 2006 08:05 PM if I understand right you are from Indonesia? Mee too, so I understand very well that you hesitate about taking a loan. Talking about scholarship, do you have an idea how to get one, as an Indonesian student? Thank you very much in advance! Iuri |

Noya, maybe you guys should lobby in the United States for direct scholarship money. I pay a lot of taxes here in the states. I hate to see my hard earned money given to foreign countries, so that the politicians can get fat and act like Gods, while people like you who would make hones uncorrupt leaders find it formidable to get their MBA. I say we give foreign aid directly to causes like education, medicine and other meaningful things. RATHER then to buy MERCS, BOMBS, and KEEP CORRUPTION Going. Let me know how I can help. I love Indonesia, and actually I love everybody in the world especially those trying to get more education that can inturn help their country and ultimately the world.Sat Oct 21, 2006 05:38 AM Also try India for an MBA, it can't be that expensive! You get people with MBA's coming to work here in the states for $20 an hour when ordinarily that task woiuld require $100-$200 an hour? Anyway, it might be a temporary situation eventually it will be really talent that can do and produce. Good luck and don't give up. Remember several countries will offer you a graduate scholarship if you include "teaching in the mix" Say you do your MBA anyway, but you also do some special education courses. |

Hello mindmaker,Sun Oct 22, 2006 04:59 PM thank you very much for your support! If only all Americans would think like you... It's true, about this problem of financing my MBA I could go to India, but I really don't want to. I would do everything to spend some time outside Asia, as I said, in a different cultural (+business) environment. What exactly is that graduate scholarship including "teaching in the mix"? I am keen to know more about that! Thanks a lot in advance! Iuri |

Have you tried fulbright in your country: Assuming you are not as old as I am. I think you have to be 35 and under. You know I won't mention any names but some minister there managed to get a scholarship,, for a very pretty young lady to attend SUNY. She was a roomate with my sister in law. She was always out partying with Indonesian dignitaries in Manhattan. Strikingly pretty, but even SUNY had to kick her out. No one ever gets kicked out of sunny you just graduate in 10 years where others take 2! Anyway. i will do some reseach for you and send you information.Sun Oct 22, 2006 06:56 PM You have to promise, if you come here you will not party with the generals from Indonesia at the UN. stick to your studies. There are plent of beautiful men and women on campus. |

Don't worry, I want to study, and I would just be very happy to get the chance to do an MBA in Europe or US.Mon Oct 23, 2006 02:10 PM Since you are so informed about many things connected to MBA, do you know if schools as well give scholarships, like the ones we were talking about in the posts of this thread? Thanks for all your info, it's great! Iuri |

Hello all, sorry was on vacation in past two weeks and didn't log in. So, yes, iuri, am in Jakarta, maybe we can chat more ;D. i heard spanish government provides scholarships, also Swiss governmnet (though it's kinda late as the deadline is for Oct. 31 and non-mba programs). Mindmaker, thanks for the support, and i am not a party crazy girl haha. That girl at SUNY really really embarass me. omg. About the fullbright, i don't think they provide for MBA, mostly for MSc or that kinda tertiary degree. Still, i will inquire about that. thanks for reminding. Mon Oct 30, 2006 05:56 AM |
