Undergraduate business ranking
The Guardian's undergraduate business school ranking is out:Fri May 25, 2012 10:47 AM www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2012/may/22/uni… Cass 9City) has risen to second place, just behind Oxford. The other top ten schools are Warwick, Bristol, St Andrews, Bath, Loughborough, Strathclyde, Glasgow, and LSE. Henley (Reading), Lancaster, Edinburgh, Manchester and Durham also do well. It's striking that this is quite different from the top MBA programmes. It shows how the domestic reputation of these schools doesn't really translate into traction in the international MBA market, and that not all schools are under market pressure to develop serious, accredited MBA programmes. |

I don't think the Judge school teaches undergraduates.

In what way is it unrealistic ? It looks like a weighted average of several objective criteria. If I was choosing a UK undergraduate degree it would be strange to ignore this. Is there an undergraduate business ranking you think is better?

Well if you see the later half of the rankings, some of the universities like University of west england (formerly known as Thames Valley University accepting students with 50% grades) is ranked 43rd far above Bradford, York etc Buckingham is ranked above Birmingham and Kent.

Well, are you not curious to understand what is behind that? For example, the former polytechnics often recruit older staudents who go on to get higher salaries.

And the objective factors (staff to student ratio, money spent on students,) correspond with UWE's stronger placement. And really, it makes sense. In economic terms, there's no incentive for a school like Bradford to invest heavily in its undergraduate business education. Tuition per year for undergrads is 9k pounds, while for their MBA program, students happily pay 22k per year. |

UWE is in Bristol and has always been strong for undergraduate business, even in the 1980s. TVU is a different university.
