Have you considered a MSc (Masters) in Business. This is a growing sector for business education. Less practical than MBA but for younger candidates more accessible.

Focusing on Scandinavia would allow you to avoid fees in many cases. Then you would only need to consider living costs etc. Most MSc programs are free in Finland, Sweden, Norway? . Quality of education is good.

Some examples in Finland; in English language
Oulu University
www.degree.oulu.fi/admission/scholarships/

Vaasa Univ.
www.uwasa.fi/english/admissions/study-programmes-in-english/…

Aalto University (highly ranked and triple crown accreditation)
management.aalto.fi/en/studies/master_idbm/

Good Luck and Good Day

Aalto is an excellent school!

If you prefer somewhere warmer: bit.ly/x6rN7d

PS Wow - almost 600 people have clicked on that link so I'd better give a spoiler. It's a link to the mastersportal.eu website.

You don't need an MBA to do a PhD. Apply directly to a PhD or masters in research

I think you need to have this conversation with the admissions staff of an PhD program. There are no PhD programmes which require an MBA. Try an MPhil or MRes programme.

Greetings Duncan,
I was made aware by a friend that countries like Finland are like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal in Asia and for B- Schools and subjects like Economics Mainland Europe is better.
Even though expenses might go up still it's worth an investment.
And i wanted to know why tuition fees is waived in Finland?

No real difference, but I have answered this in more detail somewhere:
www.find-mba.com/boardsearch/q/difference++MBA+%22Internatio…

In a nutshell, 'International MBA' is often a danger flag that the school takes no responsibility for finding you a job in-country.

Maybe he means that the state covers tuition in these countries? I'm actually not sure about that - but it doesn't really matter as there are no good MBA programs in any of those countries. I mean, is there even a business school in Afghanistan?

well i compared them based on quality of education. In asia good B-schools can be found in India, Singapore and countries like them.
With the Information i have Finland may not be a good country offering education in Finance, Management and subjects like that compared to Mainland Europe.
That is what i meant to say..

I think that, on average, the quality of a Finnish university education will be equal to or greater than the quality of the average European university; they are not at all like Afghanistan.

One difference is that in many other countries there's a very steep difference between universities, and there's a real elite. In Finland there are very few elite business schools (www.eduniversal-ranking.com/business-school-university-ranki… but the average quality is still good.

That was very helpful of you Duncan. Thank you very much. I would consider what ever you and others have said and move forward.
But i believe for an Indian to live in Finland may be difficult considering the climatic conditions there !!

Agree with Duncan regarding Finland education system.

Piking the country based on weather may not be the best starting point for selection (Cold or wet days may keep you inside studying).

Good day & Good luck

You can't get a good quality MBA (one with respected accreditation www.find-mba.com/accreditations) for 8,000 euro. And if you want to do a PhD, you will be better off aiming for a research masters, like an MRes or MPhil.

Some examples of the sort of programmes to look at:
www.eur.nl/english/prospective/master/research_master/busine…
www.bath.ac.uk/study/pg/programmes/mphi-in-mana
www.manchester.ac.uk/postgraduate/researchdegrees/researchde…

Kristie, Plad has a 8K budget and wants to get into a PhD program. Do you have an alternative suggestion?

A PhD at that cost..... hmmmm. That would be tough. I don't know of any AACSB programs that would be an option for.

I suggest reading through these threads before offering suggestions to the candidates, just to prevent them exploring dead ends.
