Credits go depending on the schools. Of course Spanish schools which are accredited have big restrictions, this is why they are allied only with important institutions of Latin America

So I will check that out with the IESA, the school offering MBA in Caracas. They definitely have some integrated exchange program with business schools world wide, but I'll have to find out what that means in terms of credits.

In Spain that exchange progran includes only IE and Esade. Esade asks this hight tuition I would like to avoid. But IE's tuition is a lot cheaper I think, and it does so good in the rankings, wow. Must not be easy to be admitted there.
Someone having applied at IE can tell me about that? Thanks.

Yestarday in "El Pais" appeared a special aboput education in Barcelona and was just mentioning the three top schools in Barcelona IESE ESADE and EADA, it is of course in Spanish.

Since the awareness of those scholls is growing in Spain, the newspapers are dedicating lots of spaces of the growing phenomenon, which is the way it should be. Three spanish schools are in the top twenty in the world.

Hi,

I am Carlota form US.

I have just visited the school and passed the exam in EADA, I have had a deep interview straight with the Director and I have had a great perception of the school and the atmosphere.

I have met some alumni and i must say they were really professional people and especially, very committed with the school.

Do you guys have some more direct feedback on this school in Barcelona, besides those i have already read?

Besides Carlotta, give a help to Mahdiar which is in the sport MBA forum. He is quite lost and some bad guys are making him believing of a Real Madrid MBA.

I consider this now a very interesting option.

I must say that barcelona really offers a lot, i was impressed to visit such big schools in the same city.

In india we do not consider SPAIN AS A PALCE TO DO mba.

Anyway i am considering EADA as an option because I confirm Carlota's opionion and i have seen other forum and got lots of different good comments.

Well Katalina,

Spain it has never historically been a country to do MBA, it has always been US, then later Uk. Also for the language.

I was sincerely surprised to see the level of the spanish schools and the position in the rankings. It is new for us, there was no tradition, but with such a quality statements, three reanked schools in the same city and all extremely international, i am definitely going for it, because everything can be in English In barcelona.

I was very surprised too, especially when you compare Spain to countries like Italy, where there is almost nothing offered!

Anyone has info about IESE in Barcelona?

Hi Katalina,

IESE is one of the best school in the world, offers a two tears programme which costs 60'000 euros, is oficially part of the Opus dei Movement and has classes of approx. 70 people.

Wow James, Opus dei movement?? I didn't exactly want to go to Europe to find myself in more christian environment than at home... 70 people in one class sounds difficult to handle as well. I know it is a very good school, but I will think twice befor applying, because of these disadvantages.
About the tuition I knew, what is the tuition in EADA again? And other good Spanish schools, where mayby tuition is not as extreme?

Hi Noya, me again.
Are you considering going to Spain for your MBA? Tuitionwise EADA is really competitive I must say. What's your impression: Are the other programs worth double tuition or more?

Hello Katalina, yes, i have placed my on-line application to EADA and now just waiting for some reference letters to send the full application, so i seriously consider this school. Hopefully they'll accept me. The mba has triple accreditations, hence i think quality-wise it should be good, The mba program is few years old. Well, guess that's the reason it has just been recently added to mba ranking (Minimum 3 year old program before addition to ranking.. also st. gallen in switzerland, i heard very good but it's less than 3 years, so no rank!). Eada has other msc programs which i heard are very good. That's from my friends who study in spain. ( i may apply for their finance program if they deny my mba application :) )

BUT, i have to admit the school is not well known outside Spain, let alone outside Europe (Random sampling, i asked 11 friends of mine who studied in Europe non spain, only one has heard of the school. But maybe that's because Spain is never the main destination for INdonesians to study). So that weigh quite a lot in my mind.

I am very interested in studying in Empresa and Esade because it's well-known. Guess it will be easier to find a job afterwards if you study in a school such as these. I don't think i would apply to IESE, although three alumni i know rate it very highly, simply because of the tuition. just imagining how to finance the tuition already giving me headache hehe.

I will meet representatives from IE in Singapore later this month, so i will let you know what the impression is.

If you ask me whether IE and ESADE is worth the double cost, i would say, if you live in latin American countries, they are probably not. People may know about all eada, ie, esade and iese. But in Asia, yes. it's worth it, especially Esade. Most friends of mine have heard of Esade.

If you want to be an entrepreneur, no, it doesn't hehe.. eada i heard is as strong in entrepreneurship content as Empresa. So, why bother paying more?

I think I will apply for all of them and try to find out more about the outcome and reputation of each program until I get their answer.
You are so right, it depends very much where you go afterwards. And it is true, in Latin America Spanish schools are more fancied than by Asian students, because of the language. I will ask around, and try to get a better picture.

May I ask you what you want to do afterwards once you have your MBA?

Hi Katalina,

I do now EADA, I have some friends which have studied there, but also whichahave done the other three.

I can tell you that the decision to o one school or the other is to FEEL IT! I am not joking, it depends if you like the school philosophy(more or less practical approach) and also the place (Barcelona or madrid) at the end you have to spend at least one year there so look for it. Price then is not an option, also bring to some decisions. Anyway you do the MBA once in your life so get asmany information as you can, go to spain and visit the school and write to them to ask if they are coming to your country, all the schools sand some representative to promote their programmes.

Hello guys,
I know it's a must for me to go to Spain to get a personal impression. It's funny that you say that now James, because I was just starting to prepare my trip! Christmas, or Eastern, I guess the latter, X-mas is a bit short from now.
Until now the main information source (besides school's websites, and posts in this board) is in fact what friends and people I know have been telling me - about programs, cultural setting, way and cost of living, Barcelona vs. Madrid etc.
It's time to make my own evaluation!

Katalina,

One of the best option is to see in the schools internet site when they are coming to your country or write an email to them in order to put them in contact with some national alumni, this is always better to get prepared before you go and visit, so you will already clear all the doubts to the school directly, but before you have had an analitical presentation by the alumi and not just a selling presentation made by the school.

Do not be afraid write to them, ESADE, IE and EADA will definitely like to answer your questions
