Thanks.but.i dont want to take GMAT again nor do i want Harvard.
but what do you think a normal or descent university would accept my application.

how much i know all the uni's in USA & Canada require gmat..
some of them may stress on gmat but most wont if your gpa is good,but gmat would be must... i would suggest go ahead and apply to uni's which you have short listed...seeing your profile as a whole you may be hired,,gmat is not every thing..

if you not keen for north america, i would suggest go ahead with UK..lots of real good uni's dont require gmat in UK..considering ur work exp and profile..you will get in many good uni's in UK.

infact if u want i can explain you why as a indian you should go to uk only and not other countries for mba.

this is for any indian planning mba overseas

my first choice for mba was one of the top schools from canada...
but as i stand today.. i understand if i study in canada or usa,,

i am not going to spend any thing less than 60000$ for only fee's if i study in any decent school in north america.

scholarship is not guaranteed so chances are 1% out of 100 , as you compete with entire class and business school as a whole.so i am not thinking of it.

MBA is 2 years in north america, so my living expense entirely i assume is going to be nothing less than 40000$ for two years.

next thing you do is think about part time jobs, for a fact mba is so intense , it will kill most of your time in assignments..so you will not be able to do work on part time job's every semester.

next question is what is my ROI(return of investment) , i am spending nothing less than $100000, what will be ROI..you are the best person to judge your self..

do you know what does today's market say "West is coming to East" hope you know east is asia...in simple term scarcity of good job opportunities.

Now let me tell you as a indian why i choose UK MBA.

1. No visa problem, i will get visa in max 10 working days, this is not case with USA, i am sure many will agree..

2. Fee's.UK has few top schools, whose total fee is nothing more than 15000 pounds

3. Mba is only for one year in uk..a big + for working executives.

4. Living expense would be max 800pounds for a month..and one only mba..so high expenses only for a year...

5.so if i consider total amount i have spend on my fee + living , travel extra,, i am spending nothing more than 25lakhs + no part jobs.. when i compare same with North america i am spending nothing less than 50 lakhs, as dollar is 50 right now :)

6.Now UK and Europe , if you compare it will be the same.. i would choose uk from europe bcoz when i come back to india studied and worked in UK would sound better than rest of europe

+ Uk is english spoken country..so no language prob, if i compare to spain or france..

+uk gives me full time work permit after MBA , rest of europe comes in EU(european union) if you want to work post ur mba, your employee has to prove that you can work better than someone from there country, makes it hard for work permit..

i thought of australia too,, with current scenario, i dont need to say anything i guess....

top schools of world ,require you to take gmat exam and toefl or ielts, so yes these exams are must

yes admission process for sep 2010 intake has started...

Actually Harvard and MIT Sloan do not require a GMAT. You can use a recent GRE (score that is 5 years old). Many B schools will also allow the LSAT if you are enrolled in law school. The similarities between the GRE and GMAT are many. About time schools recognize them. And besides, the math you do in business is backed up with excel or an expensive calculator. Both tools are not used during the GRE or GMAT. So the real world application of the GRE or GMAT is questionable.

SBS Swiss Business School does not require a GMAT score due to the fact that they offer an internal entrance test similar to the GMAT. But they do of course accept a GMAT.

Hiii Massey,
me too from india :) ri8 nw in final yr of comp engg.. planning to pursue MBA in uk,in general or in finance...(confused coz dnt knw which 1 of dem is easier n worth doing it...) can u plz suggest me the names of the uk universities which offer MBA with no prior work experience..

I've heard tht top ranked universities in uk req.2 to 3 yrs of experiance..but i wnt to pursue my MBA right after my BE course.

wht r d accredits??AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS??

I'll b giving my IELTS exam in march 2010..but, is GMAT score is also needed?? or only IELTS score will do??

Hello,
I am not too sure about the ranking of this school but maybe you would want to google some ranking sites about this school? Try to figure out if this school is ranked by financial times / business week etc.
About job prospects, it is difficult to obtain a work permit in the EU for a non EU citizen without a job offer, and job offers don't come easily without a work permit. Ironical...but that is how it is. I dont mean to discourage you, ultimately it is your decision.
MBA helps you immensely in terms of career growth...both in terms of your role in an org as well as in terms of remuneration.

As a matter of fact ther are some business school that do not require GMAT test specially if you have more than 4 years experience ,i have done the test and i dont think that test measure candidate ability to enter an MBA programme.some example: Leeds Business school, Lancaster Business school (UK) and both schools are in the top 100 ranking of BS in Europe.


Lancaster MBA required GMAT of 600 and the average GMAT score is 650 among applying students.

GMAT might be waived for those applying on the EMBA programme who happen to have 10+ years of experience.

Have you guys heard of the Open University located in the UK? It's triple accredited and has been voted among the top 5 UK Universities for the quality of it's teaching.

The requirements to get into this school are to have a minimum of three years’ experience in a managerial, professional or technical role. Usually this means that you are at least 25 years old as it is unusual (but not impossible) to be able to satisfy the ‘experience’ requirement under this age.

You will also need an appropriate facility in English language, sufficient to be able to work effectively at postgraduate level; generally this means capability equivalent to an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.5.

Myself I work for online education and previously two pvt Business schools, so long as the degree is accredited and you research the quality delivered then you cannot go wrong. It is how you sell yourself when you have the degree that will count also. Campus schools are in survival mode now struggling to get students to pay vast amounts thus wwhy there are so many asians on the campus programs, i am so happy that our online Masters, PHDs and DBAs are so popular and so cheap from such a good school as Liverpool. THE gmat serves 2 purposes, to help the school in rankings so much and 2nd to see if you have the capacity to follow a gmat. Its a horrible test to do and so expensive, I know many people with the worst GMAT get through a Masters with no problem. It really tests your anlytical thinking, Take care, Paul

Yes I have heard of them because we are one of there biggest competitors, Liverpool on line owned by Laureate Education whose honorary Chancellor is Bill Clinton, The quality of on line as now over taken campus schools and when you think you can pay per module and in instalments half the price of other same accredited degrees, then It is great news. Laureate own 50 campus schools worldwide and 2 fully on line schools, Walden and Liverpool Uk and there part of the famous Russell Group. Research well, Paul.

For UK, All Universities need the Royal Charter, after that there are hundreds of others.
For USA it is the HLC, North America

Check the school as one of them, if not then there not established that long, Walden as been 40yrs and Liverpool since 1893, Dont worry and follow your heart, Paul.

Hi.. i am kunal bhatia from Bombay , actually i made a last minute decision to check for univs in US for MBA .. i am planning to apply for 2011. I already have a secure seat in one of the b schools in India but i am really not keen on getting in.
The problem is i just have 4 days to decide whether i wanna cancel the seat in India or not and what are my chances of getting an admit in US university. Kindly help as i am also looking at the possibility of scholarship

I require an advice from you. Iam aged 41 and working professional in marketing of one MNC. i did MSc. Now i want to complete MBA. my posisition is i cannt incur lot of money .

I would like to do some part time job and complete MBA from any decent uni. shall i prefer canada or US or Uk. and there after i need to work for at least 3-5 years there.

age-41 - look at Exe MBA- people of your work exp will be in Exe Mba class...

did MSC- Go for Exe Mba or Distance learning MBA...

for Exe MBA you may not need gmat also...and you can work also...

look at canada, new zealand, usa as main options - as in canada n rest work permit is quiet easy...

looking at europe.. uk would let you have atleast2 yrs work permit post mba n part time...

Actually, there are quite a few schools in the US where you can get an MBA without GMAT (they are exec MBA's). Check out this article:

Also, I know Syracuse University has an AACSB accredited MBA where you don't need GMAT. I think you need a few years of work experience though.
