Anybody with personal experience, alumni, etc? How far away from downtown NYC is the school?

I think it takes a while to get to downtown nyc, more than an hour for sure.

If you can got o NYu or Columbia, they are better in terms of reputation and location. Just a personal viewpoint

If you can got o NYu or Columbia, they are better in terms of reputation and location. Just a personal viewpoint

know few people who went there.
Hofstra is on Long Island, where rich and famous play :-)
about 30 min train ride to NYC.
they have gained in reputation lately because of that enourmous trading laboratory, claimed to be the biggest in the world or something like that.
