Hi parag, Are you referring to a particular program? If so which one, if not, where do you plan to go, US, UK?

Thanks for your interest

I have come across a few MBA courses which are focussed on hospital and healthcare management. Each one seems to be different hence the confusion. I want to do a distant learning course. I am still unsure whether to choose european or US university

Hi Parag,
Looks to me like Boston University and George Washington programs stand out in the US in that field. And both have distance learning options. Europe, particularly Germany, also has some programes with that emphasis, too.

I had recently contacted the Association of MBA in London. They said that there is no accridated MBA programme in MBA healthcare management. All they have is MBA with a specialist module in the above. Does anyone have more information on this.

Responding to "parag" above, it could be that there is no special category in AMBA for health care MBAs, yet. Perhaps too specific. Did they give any advice about the best programs, though?

Hi Advi,

Here's a couple I came up with. Maybe they'll have something you're interested in. I can't quite remember whether you specified what country you'd rather be in, so it's a bit international. Narrow it down a bit for me and I can be a bit more precise.

Just make sure you watch Michael Moore's 'Sicko' first, yeah?

@ lukeh...
My decision on which country depends on the fee...My budget would be within 10L INR. that sa pprox 20000$(US)..Also my interest would be to study in UK /Singapore.Also since this would be an investment from our end,I would like to choose a university with good placement records as well!!

For an MBA in healthcare the same rules are applicable as for MBAs in general: Several years of work experience are exected usually, but admission requirements can vary significantly from one school to another. Therefore I advise you to do a thourough research.
Internships are not at all enough, usually, but in the US you might find programs without the work experience condition.

Work experience is relevant if it is in positions of responsibility - it won't help much to have worked as a nurse for instance

Hi guys,
I am also looking for an opportunity to do my MBA with focus on hospital or healthcare management in the US. Parag you have mentioned a list with universities with such majors in the States. Would you be so kind to send me that list?
But I am not sure if I should do my MBA in the US, Canada or somewhere else. It would be helpful to have a list with universities which have MBA programs in healthcare management in Asia, Europe and North America.
Thanks.

Frank
