Assistance in choosing which college to apply for
Hi,Tue Nov 23, 2010 09:07 AM wanted your suggestions on which MBA college to apply/try for in UK. I intend to join a course by sept 2011. By Sept 2011, I shall be 25 yrs with 4+ yrs of FT experience. I am basically a Electrical and Electronics Engineer from Goa College of Engineering, India. Presently I am working in Doha, Qatar for a leading power cables manufacturing company. HAd tried my luck @GMAT, managed 580. Shall be giving again in Jan as I was expecting something between 650 - 700. I had decided to apply for Nottingham as they had come here for a MBA fair and the college seems pretty promising. Even HULT internation, but how good is the college ? I was also thinking of applying for Glasgow, seemed nice (also I have PMed a old find-mba member who had joined 2010 batch, hope she can reply back on tht). Are there any other colleges I should apply for ? where I have realistic chances of getting in ?? I would appreiciate your help. Thanks in advance, Ash |

Will suggest Lancaster incase if you post more than 650 in GMAT.....I dont think so,GMAT score is necessary for other univ....Present qualification is enough to get admission in these univ....

Susee,Tue Nov 23, 2010 12:51 PM Really ??? I rulled out Lanchaster, Warwick, even cambridge :p, presumming they prefer people with 7+ yrs of expirence. this is what I was told, for a college of that reputation, experience is vital. |

Warwick is a good option I would say. And if you're writing your GMAT again - that would work well for you.

can try for Warwick, Strathclyde or Bradford MBA as well. for warwick you would require mn GMAT of 650 along with 4+ yrs of exp however for Strathclyde and Bradford i believe your current profile is good enough.Tue Dec 14, 2010 01:07 AM |

You should consider Imperial College Business School, Lancaster University Management School and University of Exeter Business School. There is always a scale for experience and GMAT Score, nothing is absolute. Thu Dec 30, 2010 09:34 PM Imperial is located at an excellent location in London and has a very high percentage of International students. That makes it for an excellent learning experience. Some of their students even got jobs with Google this year. Also Lancaster is a great program and so is University of Exeter whose One Planet MBA is the best MBA program in the world for those looking to make a career in Sustainability. I think Kent MBA is also very interesting as they are offering study trips to other European countries to their MBA students.
