MBA Finance
Hello,Thu May 27, 2010 05:30 PM This forum is very helpful indeed for those who look forward to MBA in Europe and I hope to get feedback too. I am interested in a career in finance/banking, would you please advise good MBA with a focus on finance in Europe? I am non-EU, have 3 years of work experience in banking in Netherlands, have done MSc in Germany before, speak good German. Is it wise to consider MBA only in german speaking countries because of my language knowledge? I am interested in Bocconi but reading this forum I understood that Italian is essential to succeed in job search..... |

I am really pleased with the program that I am in at the Goethe Business School in Frankfurt. Classes are taught at the House of Finance on the Johan Wolfgang Goethe University in the heart of Frankfurt's West End. Many of the faculty are highly regarded in the Finance community. Several banks (Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, etc.) send their fast track managers to executive training or support their EMBA studies. In addition to the Full Time and Executive MBA programs, the Goethe Business School also offers a Master of Finance program. I am not planning to go into finance, but if there is an area of specialty for the Goethe Business School, it would be finance.Thu May 27, 2010 10:26 PM The German programs are young in terms of MBA programs. This is due to the transition from the old German school system to a new International system. Goethe is one of the few programs in Germany to be accredited by the AACSB. The school (and programs) have not been around long enough to be ranked by most publications, but don't let that detract you. Goethe is a young business school that is going places. If you want a more established school with a longer pedigree, look in the UK or Switzerland. MBA programs from several of the schools in either country are highly regarded by the finance community as well. |

I am currently on The Lisbon MBA. This is a new but promising program. It´s a partnership between two universities in Portugal with MIT Sloan so you get the best of the worlds - experiencing europe and us. Tue Jun 01, 2010 08:54 PM It´s totally lectured in english and there is a high percentage of international students. Might be worth looking as an option for you if you want - a global mba - www.thelisbonmba.com It is a general mba but you can focus on finance at the end. Good luck with your search. Mim23 |
