Please Help to find out the universities...
Hi Pals,Mon Mar 01, 2010 11:51 AM I am Anil Kumar. I am an Engineering graduate and I am planning for an MBA in UK this September intake. (September 2010) Please help me in selecting the universities. I have given below my academic and work qualifications. Graduation (B-Tech): 58.9 % Higher Secondary : 72% SSC (10th grade) : (83%) I have a work experience as a manager over 3.5 years. IELTS Score : 7.0 band score Please let me know the list of the universities that I am eligible to apply for. I have not given the GMAT exam. Hi Anil,Mon Mar 01, 2010 03:06 PM Got your PM....Could you Pl answer the following questions... 1.What is your budget(fees alone) ? 2.Have you planned to take GMAT in future? 3.Your exp is in which field? 4.What is your industry size?(in terms of money) 5.Are you focusing on which category(top tier univ.....etc) 6.Any financial transaction handled? 7.Your level in org.hierarchy? 8.Man power admin if any? Have you considered Nottingham? Outside of London it's cheaper to live in Nottingham but it's still close...they have an extensive range of MSc programs as well as the MBA and have campuses in Asia where you can do an exchange?

I will say without GMAT best bet would be to go for Durham and Aston. Leeds is asking for GMAT this year without which your application wont be processed further. Nottingham, Bath and Bradford are also good without GMAT.Tue Mar 02, 2010 08:10 AM Process your application asap as this year there is heavy rush and will take around 4 to 6 weeks for your application to get processed. I have 7 plus years exp in IT industry. IELTS score of 7.0 and No GMAT. I have applied to Durham, Aston, Bath, Birmingham, Bradford, University of Sheffield and Nottingham in Jan 2010 and still waiting for the feedback on the same. |

Hi Folks,Wed Mar 03, 2010 09:13 AM I am Gaurav..and I am also in same dilemma of selecting MBA course. I am also an Engineering student from A+ State University of India. I have worked in IT sector for 2 years, have been working in Sales for past 10 months. I have scored : BTech: 61.6% 12th: 68% 10th: 72% I have been preparing for GMAT for some time and have given a MOCK GMAT and scored 710. My budget for the MBA course is not very high and that too I will have to arrange by Loan. I am looking for possibilities of scholarships, if any. Waiting for reply from your side. Thats a tough question, I suppose it depends but broadly speaking a good MBA traditionally gives you a higher salary increase and a significant jump up the management ladder. Fri Mar 12, 2010 02:43 AM I think it's imperative that if you're doing an MBA that you choose a good school which is why I recommended Nottingham. I'd say that an MBA gives you a broad management training where-as an MSc focuses on details in particular area e.g. Finance or Manufacture etc. Growth of an MSc purely depends on markets/product successes etc. and is variable i.e. in the internet boom there would have been a growth in IT based MSc's whereas the MBA has steadily grown over the years, more significantly recently during the recession, but it's likely to continue to consistantly be a popular option.
