Hello,

I am planning to apply to Oxbridge business schools, just have one concern. Their EMBAs are not listed by FT at all. I can not understand why this might be happening. They can not be worse then 85 schools in the world (their price defenitely says they are one of the top:).

Besides, they are not accredited by either AMBA, EQUIS or AACSB.

Can anyone advise me why these schools' EMBAs might not be on FT list? And how I can be sure of the quality of education and of the sound ROI?

Feedback from the alma mater would be sooo interesting.

Thanks a lot,
Irma

which program do you mean by that - do the two schools offer a program together, or is it just some school trying to make some money out of combination of two big names? can you please post a like to the program? some more infos?

Sorry, I was not clear. They have Executive MBA programs absolutely independent from each other, I just "saved" the space:)

Have a look at this

rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/emba-rankin…

you won't find any of these two schools there. Their full-time MBAs are among the top 10 or 15 but Executive MBAs not even in top 100??

i would guess it has to do with the age of the EMBA program - it takes time for a program to get listed and ranked. do you have any idea how old it is?

both b schools are quite young, and probably EMBA was develped much later then full time MBA

but many quite "young" EMBAs like OneMBA, Trium etc are listed. I suspect Oxbridge EMBAs are not younger than these joint EMBAs (as joint degrees came into vogue recently)

so, must be something else..

i fear the answer may have to do with marketing.... school with such big names sometimes don't feel obliged to spend lots of money on marketing. but i am just guessing here :-)

I can't seem to find any information on this program. It sounds interesting though - can you post a link?

Hi Irma -

I am thinking of applying to Cambridge EMBA. But the EMBA there is very young, so is Oxford's. If you are not looking for a major career move, these two big names will be globally recognized. Plus the alumni contacts you need will be available.

So I do nto think you should worry about rankings that much. Over time in your career, it is not rankings that matter on your CV but the brand of the institution. And I am sure the education will be good.

My only concern though is the lack of accreditation, this could effect places where you could get loans to finance your education. I do not know how much one needs to worry about accreditation for EMBA's from a quality point fo view.....

Come on! You do not need any accreditations when u hv a brand-name of Oxbridge with u! The brand-name itself is a biggest accreditation!

As per the recent trends, Judge Business School is placed higher than Said!
