How international is Fudan IMBA?
Any one knows information about how many of the students in Fudan IMBA are international students? Any info on distribution across continents or countries would be highly useful. The website doesnt give this information. Moreover almost all the student ambassadors mentioned on the website were Chinese(I guess). I'm looking to study in a Asian B school with a decent diversity. INSEAD, CEIBS, NUS, NTU were the ones I had been looking at so far. Heard about Fudan and wanted to checkout if it would suit me. I'm a techie at present, and am looking to get back to the tech industry in Product management or general management roles.

How international is Fudan IMBA?
Fudan is part of the MIT family of IMBAs in China. The other ones include Tsinghua and Lingan (in Guangzhou). There is a sort of rivalry among these schools in China on which one has the best MBA program - as CEIBS has distanced itself with the FT ranking and is focusing more on being an international MBA rather than a China MBA. The strength with the MIT schools over CEIBS is that it is a true China experience with an established Chinese institution where networking with a variety of students (besides MBAs) is possible. In addition, you get some options to be part of MIT Sloan activities. As someone in tech, it seems having the ability to have a computer science department or engineering department could be s plus. Most foreign CEIBS students all try to go to Hong Kong or Singapore following graduation. Sat Oct 31, 2009 03:26 AM As for Fudan international students, it is less than 10-20% - with most foreign students being overseas returnees. Fudan is the best university in Shanghai - the problem is the 1 hour commute to downtown Shanghai makes you a bit isolated with the campus community unless you choose to do the commute. Most foreigners who do an MBA in Shanghai choose to do CEIBS - which is still a 45 minute commute out of the center. Lingan is the same ratio of about 10-15% international students - there is a growing interest among foreign students who like Shenzhen prospects given the new Stock Exchange there, as well as proximity to HK. Tsinghua is about 50%+ international students - showing it as currently the more popular of the MIT programs among foreign students. This may be for many reasons including the fact that Beijing is the best place to pick up Chinese language skills of the 3 cities. Many tech savy students choose Tsinghua MBA due to its engineering prestige, its Science Park and its proximity to Zhongguancun High Tech areas. |

Most foreign Students from Fudan, from what I have heard, are American/Canadian/Taiwanese Overseas Chinese students. 10-20% as the above post seems accurate.

Have you seen the program's website? From its pictures it doesn't look like a very diverse program. (I know judging a program based on it's websites photos is probably not cool, but they don't really make the information available in any other form.)
