The only problem is that I hav very low grad GPA of 4.0 on the scale of 10 and have been rejected by top universities on that basis . jst wanted to get a hint in what level of business schools ( quality wise) shud I apply so that i hav a real chance of acceptance into their program .

If top tier European schools have rejected you, try for second tier ones (Cranfield, University of Cambridge, U. of Manchester, etc.) Not sure about ones in Asia.

Also, try to look at it this way: Your GPA is only one part of your application. Your GMAT is good, and 3 years of work experience is acceptable. In your applications you should focus on these positives, and what might set you apart from other applicants (life story, volunteer experience, etc.)

hi

i would like to share my information session with dean of Columbia business school, who had visited Bangalore recently

what they are looking for

GMAT is mandatory
good work exp
your essays..very important
personal life experiences
your interests(as told by dean. singers, musicians, theatre etc)

personal interview for school like Columbia is must, you need to dress up like you go for job interview, usually an alumni will take interview of ur country, and they would look at you.. like are you worth to be part of the school, whats special about you, that you should be chosen and how school can be benefited form you and how you would be benefited

in fact there were 2 alumina's from the school , and right now both are entrepreneur.

for more information, feel free to contact me

work exp will have lot of weight ...regular job will have more more weight than family business .. + for family business you have to get letter of recommendations from your clients whom you have done business...
