Comments on this program? seems to be structured like an EMBA and it should carry more prestige than a regular HKUST MBA. Thu Jul 09, 2009 09:19 PM globalfinance.bm.ust.hk/index.asp |

Perhaps.Fri Jul 10, 2009 01:11 PM The MBA program is certainly well-reputed, and the fact that the Msc program is connected with NYU Stern can't hurt. However, since the Msc requires five years of work experience (compared to two for the MBA,) it seems to be aimed more at the executive level. More prestige, though? Maybe only in the sense that it's suited for higher level students. |

Fri Jul 10, 2009 03:09 PM Perhaps. yes, you are studying with executives, but unlike the EMBA you do not need to be sponsored by your company to get in, or maybe im wrong and that is assumed with this program as well. you get an actual degree from NYU as well, its not one of those connected/partnership things which you get nothign out of. this is a dual degree. Sponsorship seems to be down across all programs I have looked into. I don't think anyone requires it any more. I am looking into this program b/c there is no other program like it....focused on finance in an schedule that lets me keep workuing full time. Stern is a top 3 school in finance. It's amazing that I can get an NYU Stern degree while still living in Asia.

NYU and HKUST are very much alike, very strong Finance focus in research/teaching etc... i can imagine the ROI and networking with this degree is one of the highest anywhere. |
