How is Nottingham university business school ?
Dear Ankit,Wed May 05, 2010 04:55 AM Congratulations!!!!!! I also had few admits form UK business schools, including Nottingham. But I have to rethink. I talked to few students from different universities. The reality is that only MBA can not fetch you job as it is in India. There is no such concept of Placements in UK. We will spend around 25-30 lakhs (one year salary included). The job market is not in a very good condition. You have to try for job on your own. You can ask university about previous batches placements and simultaneously check the web sites of university. But I feel you will not find details of jobs or placements. We will get 02 years work permit. But it is possible to live in UK only with some decent job. The living standards are very high. If you are quite young, say less than 25 years of age, then you can think of struggle and survival. You also cross link your current profile with the MBA. How you can increase your value for the employers. But first of all think about the money also. How you will manage the funding. If you have more time then give best shot for Top MBA schools in UK. The great brand names have good value in market. Regards |

When I was going through the process I would contact their students and their alumni directly instead of speaking to them on Open Days to get their opinion on things. hii all..Fri Jul 23, 2010 01:10 PM I have an unconditional offer letter from university of sheffield and university of nottingham. Can anybody suggest which is a better option. Also, it would be nice if anyboby can provide some information regarding the job opportunities there after and is it worth spending so much money. regards |

Hi all,Sat Jul 24, 2010 03:19 PM Its nearly one year since, i put some questions on this post. btw i enrolled for Nottingham MBA. And its been an good experience. Frankly I dont know how it would have been anywhere else. @Ankit, If you are doing marketing and all i think MS is a good option, i heard from few friends in aston that they are good in that. Overall it depends how much value, one can extract from these courses in UK, from career point of view, in the long run,that too. @deepali Nottingham is way way better than sheffield, I've been to sheffield. It is a nice city, but their MBA is a joke, and i am not kidding. Not that I am biased towards nottingham but frankly theres no comparison, unless nottingham has fallen down on rankings, as it has. |

Ok thanks...i have finalise nottingham..i have made mah deposit and booked my accomodation... they put me condition that i have to score 60 % in my bachlors...bt unfortunately i have scored 57.65 %.....i dont knw that they will cosider me or not...they are reconsiderin my application....i have applied for MSc finance and investment.... i dont know what to do....Sun Jul 25, 2010 03:08 PM and hows the birmingham university for my course... |

Mon Nov 29, 2010 09:21 AM Hi guyz , I know many people who have been to Nottingham University and had no problems finding jobs afterwards. Nottingham Business School is considered as a very strong university in the UK. Whether a school has moved up or down the rankings is not THAT vital in my eyes, because recruiters' opinions will anyway be a at least a few years "behind". So really, I wouldn't listen to the newest hype about this school or that. I would trust the little older data as what most employers will think. |

nottingham trent uni is just an avg uni but on one of the sites, the graduate prospects shown for the uni was 80% which is quite gud

if at all you are trying for UK try to get through in jan 2011 intake weather its NU or NTU since they might be scrapping PSW in april 2011 and if they close PSW then it will be really difficult to stay in uk after your degree

Although PSW is still there but UKBA is planning to scrap this from April 2011. there is no official news for this but this bill is very much under review. and according to most of the university officials, it is very likely that they are going to stop PSW. Tue Dec 21, 2010 09:14 AM |

The scrapping of the PSW is true - and will become valid from April 2011. They're trying to bring a cap to immigration etc etc - which is quite a pain really. I'm in the UK right now, and will be applying for my PSW by next month! Quite anxious about it!
