Plz guide for GMAT n MBA abroad..

Hi,

I did my Bachelors in Engineering (Production) from India in 2004 and have been into my family business of manufacturing agro-products for the last 5 years. Now, I want a career shift/ change by going for an MBA abroad. Please guide...
1. When should I appear for GMAT to apply for various 1-year full time programs abroad at the earliest?
2. Will going for such 1-yr MBA be helpful in getting me a well-paid job?
3. How much time is needed to prepare for the GMAT as i have to start from the scratch (if i give full time to it)?
4. Is professional work-experience a problem for me, as i have been into my family business only?

Kindly reply..
Thanks

Regards,
Varun

hi,
i think that the earlier you apply the better considering u are not something extraordinary. This way it is possible that some bschools will also grant you a scholarship and maybe pay less.

1.I would start as soon as possible given that u are ready mentally and have a positive attitude towards the test.

2.I think that it should not be your primary goal...sure everybody wants it,loads of it, me too,but i personally think that when u go for it it never comes...instead focus on the experience u will get and that an MBA is something u will like..I think if you are worthy money will come anyway with or without MBA...ok maybe with an MBA just a bit easier....

3.I think that 2 months are sufficient so long as u prepare well enough.Although some say that they have given it in less than a month.

4.i dont think it will be a problem.Of course u will have to show them that u really did sth, and i think that if u have it will show....oh,u can get a reference from a supplier or costumer or sth....

Best luck!!
