ESADE early deposit
I got accepted to ESADE MBA (5th round out of 7), but still waiting for answers from other BSchools.Tue May 26, 2009 07:12 PM Esade arranged interview and notified that they accept me about 4 weeks earlier than they had to notify me according to their schedule published on their site. In short I was accepted and then given a deadline to pay deposit in 10 days or smth. No negotiation to extend the deadline to pay the deposit works reasoning that i am waiting for other responses and that their published schedule is different. I also applied to LBS, Oxford and IE and waiting for answers from these schools. Applied during the last round in LBS and Oxford. IE has rolling admission but i aim for November intake. GMAT 710, 5y experience (2 years running my company+3 y in small companies), lived and studied in 3 countries. degrees:BA humanities, BS economics and in couple of months MS finance. The question: should i pay the deposit? or i would be considered if i skip the deadline and approach the school later? is this pressure by moving the deadlines by 4 weeks means that the school wants me so bad and want me to commit, or it is usual procedure. i was told that if i do not pay the deposit i might be admitted if there are places left later, but there are no guarantees. The thing is I don't mind ESADE, but if I am accepted to LBS or, especially, to IE i would prefer these schools, ceteris paribus. what others think? did anyone got into similar situation? |

ESADE early deposit
Wed May 27, 2009 10:34 PM I got accepted to ESADE MBA (5th round out of 7), but still waiting for answers from other BSchools. From the schools you have listed LBS is truly the best one. As far as IE is concerned I think it's the 3d best program in Spain after IESE and ESADE. I know it's ranked higher but IMO the Barcelona schools are better (better reputation, better placements). I wouldn't pick IE over ESADE unless you really want to live in Madrid. I can see why you want to wait for LBS. However, this year is ultra competitive and if I were you I would go to ESADE. Solid school and will keep you in for 18 months. Oxford and IE are one-year programs and I don't think the economy will be much better in 2010. |
